If there is a bright spot for the US right now, it's that Lang Ping coached them to almost winning that set. If USAV is smart, they will keep her around for another 4 years. She has been impressive in her first two matches.

I am not surprised that the US can't pass. But, what surprises me is that the libero can't pass. Out of the thousands of American players, we can't find a better libero than Nicole Davis? Why are we surprised that USA can't pass?

US should've won that game, in spite of the awful passing. Logan Tom misses a wide open court with no blockers up and the overrule on the ace. That was the difference. If they can just pass better(a huge if), they can make a match of this.

Cuba is not a perfect passing team but they make up for it in athleticism.

BTW, I really like the Chinese fans. They root for the team that is behind, they want to see good volleyball and 5 game matches.

Cuba's passing and setting are both quite exceptional. Where's Nnamani?? JLP needs to put her there to increase our offense strength.

Was wondering about Davis too. In set 2 alone she got aced twice...but one of them surely was a zinger at 95km/h. I'm sure she earned her spot on the team.

Why does Willoughby get the boot so quickly each night? I missed most of the first game... did she play bad ?

I've said it before and I'll say it again, you do NOT stop the Cuban attack, even when they're "out of system" their hitters can slam the ball home. It cannot be done and will not be done, not by the USA. The only thing you can do is serve tough and hope to slow them down, but, and here's the kicker you MUST take advantage of the slowdown to score points on your own attacks. When you play Cuba it is a flat out race to 25. It's not about controlling the match or patrolling the net. It's just get there as fast as you can.
