There's the problem with our passing. We have such pathetic servers, these girls don't see any good serves in practice. Does everyone but Tom just stand and serve? They're all the same, there's no variety at all.

There were tip shots that the US couldn't cover in this match. Time and again, we see this happening in every match.

big dissapointment tonight. no one could make it happen for the team tonight. Sykora was the bright spot. Its a shame she isn't the libero.

Cuba's passing and setting are both quite exceptional. Where's Nnamani?? JLP needs to put her there to increase our offense strength. With USA's passing problems? Don't even get started on Nnamani... Our passing was pretty bad, but we need quick kills and Nnamani has shown to be effective especially at WGP.

besides the fact that we couldn't pass... we couldn't block a ball. The middles were crazy late getting to the outside. Cuba dug everything... that was are other problem

Davis and Sykora need to switch jerseys period. Davis could not pass nor pick up the bombs by Cuba. Sykora picked up two with her limited playing time.
The setting was off. Too tight or too off.
Finally, Tenniscraze when you are getting drilled at the 10 ft line and then out of the blue someone tips the ball, you would be missing them too.

I better not hear @$$%*!* tonight about team USA needing a taller setter. Amen to that. The height of the setter never figured into this match in any way. Hell, the USA setters themselves hardly figured into this match in any way. I think USAV needs to change their entire strategy to running a 4-2, middle sets and the other five players stand back and pass.

As much as I love team USA, they sure do know how to disappoint. After being up in all three sets, they can't sustain a high level by performing what is clearly the most important skill in volleyball, the pass. Cuba has some incredible jump servers, but it shouldn't be enough to disrupt their play to the extent it did. On the US side, I don't think I've seen more service errors in two straight matches. And to top it off, we have 5 players that serve standing float serves. Which is quite the contrast as Cuba just blasts away at our weak libero. Not only were we outmatched athletically (what team isn't against Cuba), we were outmatched technically today and that is what is most embarrassing. Cuba seemed to be playing with 110% effort, and we were doing the best we could to hold on for the ride. That most definitely will not get us a medal. Thankfully, it's one match and with Venezuela next we have a good opportunity to get some rhythm going.

I agree...it wasn't just the passing that was poor, everything seemed out of sync. Block wasn't really there, serving wasn't, nothing was.

After watching Logan for some time, have to say I do like her mechanics and body motion while jump server and attacking, though I don't think she is the power hitter than say...Caren Kemner. As I watched Logan during the first 2 sets of this match against Cuba, all I can think of is how much of an energy drain she is to the team. All 5 other players are cheering, doing something to get the team fired up but with Logan its like a burden for her to show some emotion. Yeah, its probably her playing style but don't expect people to look past it.
Also noticed that Kim Glass looks a bit like Tyra Banks with an athletic body and less...um...shapely as Tyra.
And Danielle Scott is quite attractive, and an intimidating figure along the net.

I think USAV needs to change their entire strategy to running a 4-2, middle sets and the other five players stand back and pass. While I don't think the change needs to be this drastic, a 3-player service reception plus Opposite might be more feasible.
