Marshall loses two to UTEP. So much for being a darkhorse for the conference championship. I'm not giving up on Marshall yet. They definitely made it tougher on themselves by losing to Memphis and twice to UTEP. It is imperative for them to win this weekend against Tulsa and SMU. I believe they will accomplish both.

I'm hoping that the Marshall team that beat both WKU and Lipscomb is the team that shows up. It's been a Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde season so far.

I think this is shaping up to be a 3-horse race -- Tulsa, SMU, Rice Looks like if Tulsa, SMU & Rice win their matches this weekend, next week shapes up as a big week for the conference championship. Tulsa & SMU travel to Houston for matches against Rice & Houston. Houston seems to be a wild card in the conference race as they are playing well. One could argue, their conference schedule so far has been against weaker opponents, but winning can be contagious for a team. My hunch is Rice could make a big move next week.

Looks like a hge weekend for Southern Mississippi. They need to win those close home matches to stay with the Conference USA leaders. Tulsa just keeps rolling. The only team that will beat them is themselves. Stay close with the leaders?? They are 4 or 5 matches behind the leaders. They will not be contenders this year. They put together a nice run last year, but it will not be repeated.
