15-7. Wow. Big win for ASU. And Stanford says, "One down, One to go!" C'mon Cal, hold on to that Pac-10 Championship!!

wow...what does this do for seeding now?! Note to Penn State: I'm already nervous about that Minny match on Saturday, but make sure you're ready for Iowa on Friday, umm kay? Thank God they didn't play them on this wacky Wednesday...Cal, Hawaii, Michigan...what an unexpectedly crazy night. Considering that Michigan lost 5 of its last 10 matches I don't think it was much of a stretch to think they'd lose playing on the road tonight. It's simply not the same as Hawaii losing to a team that it swept the past 2 times, and Cal who was coming off a sweep of the Stanford series. In terms of seeding....well I think Stanford gets the Pac-10 top seed, and Cal gets bumped to a 2. Stanford goes to Seattle and Cal goes east to Dayton or perhaps even PSU for like the 4th straight time.

When was the last time a team with 3 Ws over top-10 teams wasn't in the tournament?

This is definitely a shocker. Similar to Hawaii, Cal caved under the pressure as ASU was playing their best.
So, with this Cal's loss, does it mean Stanford will win the conference title if they beat ASU?

If ASU had played like they did tonight, they would be in the top half os PAC-10 instead of the bottom... Let us not take away from the great match the ASU girls played today...

So, with this Cal's loss, does it mean Stanford will win the conference title if they beat ASU? If Stanford wins Fri they guarantee themselves at least a share of the title. Pac 10 does not have tiebreakers, so if two teams tie they are co-champs. If Cal wins Fri, then Cal guarantees themselves at least a share of the title. If both Stanford and Cal lose Friday, then they will be co-champs but the door would be open for USC to ALSO be co-champs if they beat UCLA.

Congrats to ASU...really too bad for Cal, despite Hawari's stellar performance. Bears had a lot of passing problems tonight. Murrey was off passing and hitting. ASU touched everything, shutting down both ends of the net. Defense was very lacking for the Bears, esp blocking. I really hope this brings the Bears back down to Earth after the Stanford win and that they can rebound on Fri against AZ.

I think Cal just screwed themselves out of a top 4 seed. Co-champs, however Stanford will have the higher RPI, and they don't have as bad a loss as ASU.. actually.. they haven't lost outside the top-10... head-to-head is still in Cal's favor however.. Idk.. what do you guys think?

I couldn't make it and didn't monitor the match because of personal business. Can anyone describe what the heck happened?

I couldn't make it and didn't monitor the match because of personal business. Can anyone describe what the heck happened? I only saw set 5, but ASU was playing really hard and really well. Cal looked disorganized and desperate, like they were playing not to lose rather than playing to win.

Cal was also not even handling roll shots. Terrible night for them.
