Is it just me or does Michaela Keef look really really thin. I mean in an unhealthy way?

-Kipp vs McClure at OH: At this point, I think McClure gets the nod. Kipp is going to be amazing, but she's not ready for prime time just yet. If Kipp adjusts to the college speed quickly, she'll definitely see front row playing time. McClure is just too solid all-around to be replaced. However, if we face a big, opposing right side, I think Kipp will be a blocking sub for her. -Agree with the other poster noted that Xu has an amazing serve. We have a very capable setter back-up for Jenna Gray. -The seniors are all solid. No drop off in intensity and focus. -Gates and Holly will be the starting middle duo. Vicini is a very good 3rd MB. -Baird has a very decent platform and solid passing. I can see her as our 4th OH option over M. Keefe. She's gonna start next year for sure. -Their practice gym must be intense. Such great volleyball all-around, especially this early in the season.
This is probably the deepest team Stanford WVB has every had in every position. Hoping they all stay healthy and hungry for that back-to-back natty.

Stanford looking very good...I just came back from their open scrimmage. Honestly their 2nd team could easily be a top 10 team nationally.
Impressed with newcomers Kipp, Xu and Gates. Our other freshmen Berty, Vicini and Baird will get better. Also Campbell is ready to breakout as a star.
3 consecutive aces from McClure against the starters, amazing digs as always from Hentz, powerful kills from Kipp and Plummer, solid blocks from Fitz and Gates, perfect sets from Gray and Xu.
Can't wait to start the season!

She had a monster kill down the line giving M.Keefe a facial and she bounced one in the middle of the court. But she also got blocked multiple times and made unforced hitting errors. She's going to be realllllly good! Excited to watch her develop in the next 4 years. She also has a very good serve!!! Passing needs work but she's highly capable of adjusting to the college game for sure.

Fidelak looks pretty solid. It's great to have a lefty on the right side. She looked solid! I do think that if Fitz is unavailable, Plummer will probably fill in the RS instead of Fidelak.

Is it just me or does Michaela Keef look really really thin. I mean in an unhealthy way? No. Please careful with these types of posts. M.Keefe has always been that way since her frosh year. These girls work out hard and are in great physical condition. Let's not put thoughts and doubts in other people's minds. Being skinny doesn't always mean unhealthy. It could just be her genetics, metabolism and hard work year in, year out.

Can't wait to start the season! I wouldn't label the other team as 2nd team. Hambly said they split up the team evenly. We had starters on both sides. But I agree, they're pretty solid. Holly hitting with authority and blocking well. TEAM RED: Gray, Plummer, Kipp (Baird backrow), Gates, Vicini, Fidelak (Formico Back row), Sydney (serving sub for Vicini) TEAM WHITE: Xu, McClure, MKeefe/Berty, Fitz, Holly (played front row the whole time), CKeefe libero.

FYI: Cardinal team won all 4 games vs. White. I think Kevin wanted to see how some of his newcomers played with the seniors but also put 2 of his best blockers on the White team. And Xu and McClure were probably the best servers today. Still Cardinal was too strong with the 3 first team All-American seniors and really a 4th senior in Gates plus Kipp.
Cardinal: Plummer Hentz Gray Gates Kipp Formico Vicini Fidelak M. Keefe
White: Fitzmorris Campbell McClure Berty Xu Wilson C. Keefe Baird

Cardinal vs White Scrimmage notes (Cardinal won the scrimmage 4-0):
1. Cardinal team more loaded with Plummer/Kipp/Gray/Hentz/Gates/Formico/Vincini/Baird/Fidelak vs White with Fitz/Campbell/McClure/Xu/M.Keefe/C.Keefe/Berty/Wilson 2. Kipp and Plummer were LS hitters 3. Fitz was probably the most effective hitter with lots of kills and high hitting percentage 4. Both Campbell and Gates looked good on slides and racked up plenty of kills 5. Kipp's hitting was pretty effective except when OOS against the block of Fitz/Campbell 6. Hentz was covering ground as usual and made several great defensive plays 7. C Keefe was pretty solid at L for the White team 8. Kipp played front row only except when she rotated back to serve. Kipp had several runs of points from the serve posiition. 9. Plummer looked to be in mid-season form. 10. Fidelak recorded plenty of kills and had lots of success tooling the block 11. Kipp passed in one rotation and was exposed as a weak passer 12. Xu looked good and clearly would be a highly competent backup setter
Adding this all together this is my best guess at Stanford's Starting Lineup:
LS hitters: Plummer/Kipp -> McClure subs into the back row for Kipp but will get front row duty if Kipp struggles RS hitter: Fitz Middles: Gates/Campbell L: Hentz DS1: Formico Setter: Gray

I thought Baird played for white, backrow for Fitz. No, Baird played back row for team Card subbing in for Kipp. Berty was subbing in for Fitz.
