I don't think the grey jerseys were THAT bad, but I am confused as for the need for them? Stanford already has 3 official jerseys : home white, and road cardinal and black - the latter being my favorite.

I wonder when they are going to get new jerseys? It's been about 4 years now since they have.

Its rumored in the next two years according to a friend at Nike. The jerseys are apparently sleeveless which the players have been begging for, not sure the color.

Well, nothing is different about the Stanford jersey other than the color. They still have / wear the other three jerseys from last year.

She always (or anytime I have watched on youtube lol) plays right back anytime her and Formico were in the back row together - and it works quite well I think. I just prefer her OH1, but my preference for that position is your most terminal left side - which she is, but to each their own of course. She would still be available in the back row if the three front row hitters aren't getting it done. My biggest issue, is why is she wearing black kneepads this season?? JK it's not an issue for me at all, it just seems strange, I'm only used to seeing Hentz and one of the Keefe's in black lol. Agreed. Black knee pads are not the way to go It's a proven scientific fact black knee pads improve your digging skills, just look at Morgan Hentz.

Did anyone mention the new light-gray uniforms? They were unmentionable. I attribute the second game Stanford lost to these uniforms.

Most coaches put their best OH in the O1 so she can be front row during 2/3rds of the 2-hitter rotations, and provide extra offense (by getting set more). Some coaches put their best OH in the O2, so she can be a back-row attacker during 2/3rds of the 2-hitter rotations, and provide extra offense (by giving the team 3 effective hitters).
Plummer is the pretty rare women's collegiate player who is good enough from the back row that both options make sense. And, as noted, using her in the O2 allows Kipp to play 2 1/2 rotations without ever being in serve receive (as opposed to 1 1/2 rotations, if Kipp/McClure was in the O2). My guess is, Hambly decides before the match if he thinks he'll use Kipp for McClure or not, and puts in his OHs accordingly. A team like TX, with a huge right-side attacker and a small setter seems like a great time to use Kipp; no matter what rotational matchups you get caught in, you have a giant blocker on their Oppo, and you have someone to really exploit the small setter.

I’ve been a big proponent of having McClure play all the way around... but it never occurred to me to move Plummer to OH2. In this case, it makes sense to have McClure play back row and Kipp play front row. I stand corrected... i’m all for this switch now.
My only concern is consistency - if Hambly keeps switching the OH based on match-ups, sometimes it’ll take more time to get used to who you are next to and the communication between players. But that seems like a minor point.

But that seems like a minor point. Well.. I remember presenting the idea of moving Plummer to OH2 so that there’s more rotations where Kipp wouldn’t be in the serve receive formation. You shot it down pretty fast. Anyways, I do hope that things settle and Fitz and Gates go back to terminating balls lol.

Hambly and coaching staff are also working Kipp in slowly because, as is almost always the case, top club/HS stars are used to hitting against much weaker blockers. The other issue is blocking technique/timing, which is another weak point for most newbies. I like to think of it as a race to December trying to work with freshman to improve these skills ASAP.
