After reading today's NLI signings, one thing is eminently clear to me. Notwithstanding derogatory, dismissive & negative comments about Hambly (mostly from outsiders): the guy can recruit! Well its pretty easy to do with Stanford on his back

Yeah, I truly do understand Ms. Corlett's importance (fun fact: she was THE coach in 2000; went 19-12). She and KH both do it!

Well its pretty easy to do with Stanford on his back One for the "dismissive" box on our ballot: thanks for voting. Not being shady. Just pointing out how Stanford recruits for itself more so than the other top volleyball schools, nothing against Hambly as a recruiter as he's obviously the one recognizing the talent. Two top ranked MB is rare so props to him.

Recruits always the same spot plus they go to the locker room post game.

I'm not sure that she'd class that year in the "fun" category, but it does mean she's on her 4th coach, possibly a record for an assistant.

But is it trivia? It's common knowledge among those who've followed the team for any length of time, and Stanford fans are notable for length of tooth.

Good grief on the mashed potatoes: Denise Corlett is the glue that has held Stanford together; moreover, she IMO will be the first and perhaps only coach to be inducted into the AVCA Coaching Hall of Fame because of being mostly known as an associate/assistant coach. She has already been inducted into UCLA's Hall of Fame as an athlete in several sports. In volleyball circles, Nesi is a legend. Period.

Recruits always the same spot plus they go to the locker room post game. Maybe I'm senile, but I'm pretty sure I've seen them in at least two distinct locations. 1. In section 4, maybe 5-6 rows up. 2. Mostly, I've seen them behind the end line where home team serves, within first 3-4 rows, and closer to the team benches. Is that the area you're talking about?

Merete Lutz is playing in Korea this season. Some highlights : Wow, great find! She got so much better. Can really terminate the ball! Wow, if she was this developed during her time at Stanford, we would have more championships for sure.
