I love how people who have no connection to Hugh are speaking DEFINITIVELY about what he will and will not do. Funny.

Hugh really likes peanut butter toast and American Bandstand reruns in the morning, along with a cup of hazelnut cream coffee, two sugars, while he reads the morning's happenings on www.deseretnews.com, followed by a 6.875309-mile jog with his pomeranian named Lloy while wearing an I'm With Stupid sweatshirt. Then it's off to the market to buy some juicy kiwis (not -that- kind of kiwi - he's a married man and this is the wrong hemisphere anyway), and then meet Wiz for brunch at La Melanie Bistro. So my point is that clearly Hugh is not going to be coaching anywhere more than a 15 minute drive from northern Modesto.

"I think Hugh would rather go abroad and coach a club team than leave SoCal for the middle of nowhere Pennsylvania." I know this is a difficult concept for some people to grab a hold of . . . but many of us, even those of us who are California natives, choose to live in the middle of Pennsylvania, Maine, Idaho, Georgia, etc . . . part of the reason we do is it gets away from people who think the universe rotates around a specific geography. please, I've heard the phrase "backbone of America" way too much in my life to not believe that even some people in nowheresville Arkansas think that the universe rotates around them....It's probably in the sign of Ophiuchus or whatever that new astrological sign is called .

Hugh is going to replace RR when RR is ready to move on. Rose is 57. He could be coaching for a while. Wow. He looks older. Thought he might be at least 62 or so.

There's a reason why they call it "Happy Valley." A lot of retirees are moving to the area. Low crime, healthy economy that's been pretty recession proof over the years, housing prices that did not drop like a stone, low stress, small town life with the amenities of a large research University. My favorite story is about Joseph Heller when he taught at PSU and was in the process of writing "Catch 22." Apparently he found the lack of stress an impediment to writing the book so he moved to NYC. At least that's the story that's been told. I've lived all over the country including ten years in California and this is where I settled. A similar story can be told for other universities in non urban areas. "Middle of nowhere" can be quite attactive to some of us.

Some of you people must spend too much time reading Tiger Beat or watching TV where celebrities spend tens of thousands of dollars a year on their outward appearance. Rose doesn't look at all unusual for a man in his late 50s.

If Hugh joins the league, it wont change it one bit. Minnesota remains an exceptional team, with an exceptional coach.
