“When the Americans score a goal, they stop moving their feet,” Sasaki said. “We saw that.”
Whereas the Japanese kept going.

Heath was subbed in with a 2-1 lead. Not sure why they would be worrying about penalty kicks at that point.
It just looked like the USA believed the soccer gods were against them after the 2nd tie.
What I'm trying to figure out is why I wasn't rooting for Japan in the first place. I love soccer, but I rarely watch it. Why did I automatically start pulling for the US team?
Sports allegiances are weird.

Yes, lots of missed opportunites early - opportunities that looked easy to me laying on my couch, but maybe they weren't so easy? That last goal by the Japanese was amazing. The demeanor of the teams heading into the penalty kicks was WAAAYYYYYY different. US looked scared to death, Japan looked liked they were headed to Disneyland.
Edit: I thought the referee did a great job. Granted, I don't know much about it, but looked good to me.
So, now what to do until volleyball/college football starts? Not a huge baseball fan, amazed the WNBA is still in business, too hot for me to actually go outside and do anything. Maybe I'll read the Harry Potter books. Just finished "Hunger Games" series. Violent, but I really like them.

I read the first book and liked it, but halfway through the second book I was just too annoyed by how much it seemed to be repeating the first book. Extreme "middle of the trilogy syndrome."
The YA books that really captured me recently are by Scott Westerfeld, "Leviathan" and "Behemoth." Third book of the trilogy is due out in Sept.
It's a "steampunk" series about an alternate history of WW1.

Are the books you mentioned "clean"? Looking for some books to take on a mini vacation to the mountains next week.

There is some violence (it is a WW1 story), but nothing I would describe as gory. There is a romance sub-plot, but it is so far entirely chaste because the girl involved is masquerading as a boy (in order to serve in the military).

Headed to Barnes and Noble today.
