Rabita 3 - 0 Azerrail (25-18, 25-23, 25-19) Rabita Baku's Akinradewo (57%) and Montano (55%) were on fire in the attack to sweep Azerrail (Hodge, Wilson) Match StatisticsYes! Go Foluke! But what is with Hodge? 3 points? Didn't you hear? She only comes to play for the national team.

Yes! Go Foluke! But what is with Hodge? 3 points? Didn't you hear? She only comes to play for the national team. To be fair, the team fired its entire coaching staff this week before the match, and one starting MB quit too (the other starter is out with a serious liver disease). So understandable it's not a great situation to perform.

All this bashing about Megan Hodge (who I don't particularly care for) reminds me of the Olympic match versus China where she blasted 18 kills (or something like that).

playoffs have arrived in Puerto Rico, and it looks like Rachael Kidder will be joining Tabi Love once again on Caguas de Criollas since her team didn't make it to playoffs. UCLA FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT

So understandable it's not a great situation to perform. Also Chiappini chose many of the players in Azerrail so with him gone it is fairly certain many players will be replaced next season or leave on their own.

Sonja played a very good match. Solid passing and did the most she could with the sets given to her. She handled a lot of junk in the match.
Ammerman is not a major player for Hamburg but Hamburg played excellent volleyball today. They deserved the win.
Good to see Norisha playing, I think she was on the NT at some point but Im not sure...

UCLA FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT Wait - so in the Puerto Rican league, playoff teams can just grab players off of teams that didn't qualify? Is there some sort of procedure or order, like a waiver wire in U.S. pro sports? Seems, well, more than a little bush league.

Kidder was off of contract (Since her team's season was over) and any team that had a slot for a foreigner available was free to bid on her. Similarly, as European pro seasons end, you'll see others get picked up (such as Van Orden by Catano or Alisha Glass getting picked up by Mayaguez when her team folded). I'm not sure when the transfer deadline is, but everything is fair game before then. It's really unstable for foreigners in PR. They get fired pretty easily. F.ex. Alex Jupiter had to go home to make way for Kidder.
