What the heck does ingidnant mean? Did you mean indignant? Wrong word, wrong context, little Don King.
It's a punk move, because he knows the rules and shouldn't have even tried to get away with that crap...

The East/South get two automatic bids, because that's where the majority of sand teams are located right now. Which is why CofC got in, they're the 2nd best team out there (behind Florida St.). Automatic bids will probably change as other regions - most notably the West - become better represented.
Anywho, congratulations to Nina, Marcio and the Pepp team. There wasn't much doubt they were the best team top to bottom. They lose some good players (Frederick, Hill, and Robinson), but they'll be tough again next year. LBSU will have a good squad as well, and USC will be improved.
It will be very interesting to see what other schools pick up sand for next season - I've been hearing all sorts of names, including an entire conference picking it up, but have yet to see any official commitments.

After watching today's competition and reading this thread, I decided to add my two cents to this conversation. First, how is LB sandbagging #5 when ALL their other teams CONSISTENTLY beat #5? Again as beachvball posted, #4 team member has NOT played beach or indoor for two years since being hurt and not even sure she could play beach this season after having shoulder surgery and couldn't swing! The original #2 team had the best blocker on the squad until a foot injury took her out, needing a temporarily replacement. So again, how is LB sandbagging?!

Wondering why in Long Beach's article regarding it's loss to Pepperdine it's reported they lost 0-3 when really they lost 0-5.
Obviously, it wasn't necessary for the other school to win more than 3, but seems like it'd be a better practice to report the match results accurately.....

Who has consistently beaten LBSU's #5 team? Look at their overall record, it's way more wins than losses. As for the #4 team, are you talking about Jocelyn Neely? Part of USAV's national beach team program? Played in the junior world beach championships? Playing in AVP qualifiers when she was 16? She's at the minimum the 3rd best player on LBSU's entire team. Not too shabby for a #4. Please. Look, boys and girls, this isn't my opinion - Brian has talked openly about his strategy in putting together his teams. He probably wouldn't use the exact term "sandbagging," but I doubt he would deny it either. Ask him.

LB#5 has consistantely lost in practice to LB#1, LB#2, LB#3 & LB#4 so they are LB's true #5 team! Capisce!
Yes Neely. She hasn't swung in over 2yrs! A recent shoulder surgery would certainly warrant a #4 start, especially not knowing IF she would even be able to play! She didn't play one point indoors this season yet she is supposed to come out in a short beach season and instantly be #3, please! You must not know how long it takes to come back from shoulder surgery!
In addition, why doesn't anyone bring up other teams sandbagging?

What about Pepperdine moving it's #1 team of Racich/Ross down to the #2 spot so they wouldn't have to play LB#1 Ledoux/Roenicke who had already beaten them twice!
Cook, an AAU beach Player of the Year a Pep #5 team, really?
What about Pep switching it's #4 down to #5 to go after LB#5
You can call this strategic switching, but when LB does it, it's called sandbagging! Strange!
I'm just getting started... more to come tomorrow, got to get some rest - big games tomorrow.
