I was just curious where everyone planned on watching/streaming the matches as they happened?
I think the 2012 London Olympic site will stream, but I'm not entirely sure. I didn't want to wait till the last minute to find out that I can't watch there, so I figured I'd ask where everyone else was planning on streaming from. Thanks!
Also, does anyone plan on recording all of the matches?

nbc will be broadcasting or showing everything on-line.
I don't think finding a feed will be a problem.

It looks like you have to have a subscription to a service that has MSNBC or the other NBC affiliate to hook into their stream. Otherwise, out of luck. (I don't, therefor am) Am I missing something?

Nope, you're not. I have Comcast for my internet and had hoped that that would be enough. I received an error message that I needed a TV subscription that included those channels to use their online streaming access.

YouTube is providing live streams for every game for a bunch of continents, but it's still unclear if they will be available in the US. Between NBC, CTV (Canadian Olympic Network), and all the free online streams of people who will re-stream their feeds, I think we'll be fine.

Depends on how aggressively NBC is monitoring and defending their broadcast rights. NBC owns exclusive broadcast rights within the United States. The only way to watch Olympic live content is to have a TV package that includes NBC channels, allowing you to either watch it on the TV or use your TV subscription to sign in to the NBC website. At the present time there is no other legal method for watching the Olympics in the USA. All re-streams are illegal, and NBC can have those streams shut down if they choose to pursue it.

It appears that if you have an NBC channel and you want to watch online, there is a one time sign in, then it should work. I hope things are free on a delayed basis; I don't mind knowing the winner in volleyball (gotten good at skipping sets USA loses) and watching later.
Not going to be any effort to withhold results until NBC shows tape delays, is there? Too many ways to get results.

They have said that nothing will be delayed; it will all be streamed live, even if they plan to show it on prime time that night.
I sure hope this is true. The WORST was living just a few hundred miles from Vancouver and having NBC insultingly tell me that they were showing results "live" when they were delayed by three hours. In their New York bubble, they decided that while New Yorkers would want to see things live, it would be best for the rest of us to see them at the same relative time that New Yorkers got to see them.

My company's Internet filter better not block any streaming sites because I have a feeling that the last two weeks of my internship are going to consist of closing out a couple projects (one by this coming Tuesday) and lots of Olympics watching...

MSNBC and CNBC. On Comcast they're on the Digital Preferred tier, but not on the Digital Starter tier. If cable is available, but you don't have it, there are lots of deals to sign up - the question is how long it will take them to get to you. You can drop the service after the Olympics, since there is no contract. I think he was asking if there are any free streams, like from other countries, etc.

They had all the main events live, great coverage of other countries athletes, a minimum of uninteresting "human interest" stories, and succinct and illuminating announcing and commentary. RIP.
