Has there been a Hodge sighting yet? I haven't seen her in. On the sideline during timeout.

Good close-out by the USA. Tom goes cross-court to end the set 25-19. Has there been a Hodge sighting yet? I haven't seen her in. On the sideline during timeout. LOL Yeah. Saw that as soon as I posted. They did mention her on the telecast.

Korea seems really scrappy to me, and I don't mean that as an insult in any way. They are hard to score against, so it is good that the US block was there in the first set and that the Koreans made several errors. I know they have to serve tough, but they weren't on that part of their game in the first set.
Also, in an aside, this is SO much better than women's basketball, even at its highest levels.

Scott-Arruda is the third middle for the US, correct? I think she and Hodge were the only ones not to play in the first set.

I missed the beginning - what was the starting lineup?

A lot of great defense on both sides of the net, but US block just too much for the Koreans. Watching the Italy-DR match on TV at the same time, DR looks a bit off but their OHs look very strong.
Btw, I really like this British announcer for the US match.

The usual Logan, Jordan, Berg, Foluke, Davis, Hooker, and Harmotto.

Are you streaming this or not in the US?

For those who follow international volleyball regularly, is there anyone out there who is a match for Hooker physically? She looks dominant right now.

It's on the Spanish channel, Telemundo I think. Channel 48 no cable required.

Also, in an aside, this is SO much better than women's basketball, even at its highest levels. Maybe because the women's net is lower in volleyball while there's no comparable rules adjustment in women's basketball.

The Gamova/Hooker matchup... if they happen to be front row at the same time

Maybe because the women's net is lower in volleyball while there's no comparable rules adjustment in women's basketball. That probably plays into it, but I think that women's v-ball players just look more smooth at the game. In women's b-ball, they look... clunky. I don't really have a better word for it.
