I've seen announcements like that now and then, but not consistently. If Hudson is indeed headed for LBSU, she'll be a useful player for Gimmillaro. Might take some of the sting away from being left at the altar by Kelly Claes as well.

Sorta sounds like ISU wanted to make sure and put its own spin on the news, essentially, "We told her the freshman recruit, Harris, would take her starting spot and she decided to pursue other options."

I quess it could happen but why would a coach tell her starting setter that a kid coming in, who has yet to arrive on campus, yet to attend a single practice, is going to take her spot? I can see telling a player she will have to compete for her spot but that would be standard for every spot on every team. I would think every player on a top level team has the mind-set that they have to earn their court time every year. My guess is that CJL had a conversation and told her the competition would be there next season but I can not imagine her or any coach telling a player she had lost her starting spot six months before practice even starts.

Good point. I should have used "might" rather than "would." My point is that it sounds like CJL likely thought ISU could do better, setter-wise.

Any number of reasons for a transfer.

Good point. I should have used "might" rather than "would." My point is that it sounds like CJL likely thought ISU could do better, setter-wise. CJL has traditionally had a press release for roster changes including whether the player leaves for Baylor or the track team at ISU or whatever. Sure it is about some spin but it generally informs the fan base of a fine program that might not follow the nonsense herein. I don't know why Hudson left. I doubt it was fear of losing a starting spot to a freshman setter even smaller than herself. Hudson committed quite late in the game to ISU so it is possible there is a desire to play closer to home. While there are few coaches who think they couldn't do better at that position there is only a 5'6" ds/s on the roster and a 5'8" incoming freshman on Rich Kern. Unless CJL knows something that is not in a press release there is a good chance she is in a spot she would rather not be in. So let's give them both a break say CJL allowed a kid to go home and didn't squeeze her out for lack of talent unless you know something not in the press.

Kaity Edwards, a MB, has transferred from Wyoming to Santa Clara. SoCal kid, her mom is former UCLA all-american Lisa Ettesvold.

Sheridan Zarda (L/DS) transfers from Nebraska to Kansas State. She was injured this past year, but I'm honestly not surprised to see her jump ship. It looks like as the season went on, her place on the depth chart just kept getting lower and lower the more court time that Lyles and Etheridge saw. Add in Maloney next year and the fact that Justine is only a freshman, it didn't bode well for her. Good luck to her at K-State. They seem to be making some good transfer decisions that could help them out

Sheridan Zarda - bad back, so she redshirted this year. Works out, now she is immediately eligible at K-State. Nice girl happy for her, well liked by her teammates!!!
