In 2021 during her last year at NE, Lexi started marketing a clothing line named "The Sunny Crew" thru Ren Athletics. That brand of clothing is still available, but not sure it is still associated with Lexi, she could have sold or franchised the brand.
I always thought her focus shifted that year from volleyball to her career outside of VB. Suspect that was a smart career move for her, as her back injury was possibly lingering (they often are), possibly restricting her playing ability and the longevity of any pro-career she pursued. Respect her for staying on the team that last year with reduced playing time.
Suspect (and hope) she has done well for herself in business, but don't know.

I had a wonderful conversation with Lexi at the Pro Volleyball Federation party in Tampa. She was delightful to visit with and seemed to be doing very well. And she said PVF asked her repeatedly if she wanted to play and she doeesn't. She and her father, who was there, are the uniform vendor for PVF.

She's moved on and is living life. Good for her. Why are people still dwelling on her and criticizing her or questioning her years later?

She's moved on and is living life. Good for her. Why are people still dwelling on her and criticizing her or questioning her years later? Because she was a compelling figure in college volleyball - in some ways the most compelling figure in college volleyball - for a number of years and this message board is dedicated to volleyball. Specifically, the lion’s share of activity is around college volleyball. Sometimes I wonder what planet I’m on. There’s a natural curiosity about other people. Former classmates. Ex lovers. Music artists. Child actors. Sports stars from yesteryear. Sometimes the “rest of the story” is heartwarming and joyous. Sometimes it’s a train wreck. Most of the time it’s somwwhere in between, and really, none of us get to judge another person’s life or the direction it went. If anything, our feelings about others is really a mirror we’re holding up to ourselves. Have I done enough with my time on this planet? Or...at least I didn’t go into THAT kind of downward spiral. But whatever our reactions, we’re not going to turn off our aggregate curiosity. I’m not going to do any kind of investigative work on Lexi Sun, but I’m grateful for Lee for passing on the tidbit she’s working with her father as a vendor for PVB uniforms, and is insistent she doesn’t want to return to volleyball as a professional even after multiple invitations. I’ll also say if she gave some kind of interview on a podcast somewhere, I’m highly likely to listen. I don’t want her to be hounded by paparazzi to the point she has a car accident, but I don’t think we’re anywhere close to that point with someone necroing this thread. Half the activity around her any time her name is brought up is people saying how we need to leave her alone. I can’t think of another volleyball player mentioned on here who makes more people defensive any time her name appears than Lexi Sun. There are legitimate reasons for that given the previous discussions on the board, but the fact remains she persists as a compelling figure for many people, and that’s just how it is.

there’s literally entire youtube/tiktok accounts dedicated to going through ESPN recruiting classes and going through their careers and where they’re at today, and *RELATIVELY*, most of those recruits didn’t/don’t have half of the “clout” Lexi Sun had/has. honestly, I think it’s pretty cool she’s a jersey provider for the PVF, and I wouldn’t have known that unless this thread was brought back up.

The way (mostly Nebraska fans, but a few others as well) immediately make it their goal to shut down any discussion of Lexi is more of a red flag than any actual discussion I've seen of her on here. We're allowed to talk about the most hyped prep player of all time and how her college career ultimately fell short of expectations. Years later, and I still find it intriguing myself. I mean, she was SO physically dominant in prep, was called up to the senior national team at one point, etc. Do we think she would have had a #1 recruit type of career if she had switched to the OPP? Who knows. But there's literally nothing wrong with talking about it. Thayer Hall also falls into this category, I fear. Kennedi Orr might be the next contestant if she doesn't transfer. Idc what sport it is, a #1 recruit having a sub par collegiate career will always be a point of interest.

The truth is, and you know this Lee, but will never say or write about it-something that would disgust Ed, is that Lexi was injured in Austin during her year there and not given the proper treatment or rehab which resulted in her never being able to play or train without pain in her back since that time… it’s regrettable but I guess you would rather push a 18-year-old freshman to get a sound bite than expose actual malfeasance by a rogue program. Keep up the good guy act Lee, I’m sure someone will believe it…
