It will be interesting to see how Purdue does next week. Due to quirks in the schedule, I don't think anyone knows how good they are, since they have played the fewest ranked opponents among teams near the top of the poll. They could be one of the top teams or in the 11-20 range. We just don't know at this point.

Next week will be a good test and to see just how much Purdue has progressed. I am hoping to see a fearless Purdue team and not the Purdue teams of the past that can get panicked and freak out. With PSU losing to the Illini, I am sure they will be hungry to get the bad taste out of their mouth and Purdue will have to play a superb game.

The upcoming matches will present quite the challenge for Purdue because until now they really have not really been stretched. I can't help but wonder if the unity they have from winning will keep them from the roller coaster ride that the rest of the big ten has experienced.

Purdue is a mystery at this point. Will be interesting to find out more.

I love getting to see his new videos! Seeing volleyball action in slow motion (AND with music) is the best way to watch it in my opinion!

It will be interesting to see how Purdue plays against Penn State tonight and Ohio State tomorrow. If they hold their own, they will be noted as serious contenders in the Big Ten.

Anyone know why Kiki Jones has only been serving as of late? I know she jumped in at the end of the OSU match but she is a senior All-America selection, have Faye and Cuttino really just outplayed her that much? I didn't notice anything specific with Kiki struggling...

Saw Cuttino for the first time against PSU. Hot damn. That is all.
And I am SO glad that to see Val Nichol setting the 5-1. Love that girl.

Next year's team will be better. Next year will be so much more interesting just because Val won't be at the helm. Ball control with Amanda Neill (who I think is the most underrated libero in the country) and Kate Workman will be improved and the attacking will be better with Kiki Jones being the only one leaving but we'll see if Lydia Dimke can beat out Ashley Evans to set. IMO they won't be able to do without Evans in serve receive and could use her as a back row attack option which they haven't really had since Ariel Turner left. And having Evans as a option from the back row could help ease Lydia into the starting roll. But we'll leave that talk for after season, I just got going and couldn't stop haha As for this season, Epenesa and Stahl continue to impress me on their range and IQ. Sam got picked on with PSU for her passing but she can terminate much better than I had anticipated. Stahl is just getting warmed up!

Smith is a PSU level recruit; really strong player. Purdue will eventually build around her.

Dave has really been shuffling through outsides and middle hitters (Evans, Stahl, and Epenesa and Kiki, Cuttino, and Faye). I was curious if you guys think its a problem or he should keep it shuffling. I tend to like it, kind of a "who's hot" type thing and if the options are there, use them. But some people think in consistency comes comfortability and it hurts the team.
Either way, big game coming up and I think this coaching staff is one of the best in the country at getting the team ready to play especially after a loss. And if you ask the girls, most of them will say their biggest rival isn't IU or Illinois, they'll say Wisconsin. There's a lot of fire in this match up and I'm anxious to see the game!
