With all due respect to Lindsey, if she is our best passing option this year, we are in trouble. Our offense isn't nearly where it was the last two years to be able to cover up our passing problems this year, and we need some real improvement in that category to make up for the loss of offense. From the sound of things this spring, it hasn't come. *This is where we are hoping Goehner and Rosado can help out! You are still counting chickens before they've hatched. Based on watching both Goehner and Lawmaster on many occasions (albeit at different levels, I'm definitely keeping this in mind), I'd feel more comfortable with Goehner in the back row than Lawmaster this season. That being said, I still hope Goehner can work her way into the OH2 role this season.

Come on guys, do you really think that Hugh; former Olympic coach is going to get a foreign athelte that is NOT good? Really? Don't you think he has seen his share of gifted young foreign athletes across the world and would be able to distinquish the difference between an average and "able to play at the next level" collegiate player? He had to do that all the time working with the Olympic team.

The other thing about Rosado is that we have no idea how good she is. Why would Hugh take her then?

The other thing about Rosado is that we have no idea how good she is. Why would Hugh take her then? This makes no sense. Why does any coach take any recruit? Or do you think they all KNOW just how good they are going to be? It's a simple statement. People seem to think Rosado is going to be a superstar. She may be. But we won't know until she starts playing. Just like any other incoming recruit. It's good to know that Beal, Lohman and Rosado will all be great, just because Hugh "took them."

I never once said Rosado or anyone would be great because Hugh took them. Don't put words in my mouth. What I said was that I think that he has had plenty of time and experience evaluating talent and would probably be able to tell if they could play at the next level. Coaches in every sport have to do that all the time.

No, pelcj11 is the one who was arguing with me. I understood your position.
I agree. Hugh should be able to evaluate talent and only offer to players who he thinks will be very good. My point is that you can say that about EVERY successful coach. What you can't say is that every player they recruit turns out to be good. Or very good. Or great.
People are assuming Rosado is an upgrade from Lawmaster (who Hugh has kept on the team, btw). Maybe she is. We will not know until she gets on the court.

why would Hugh keep going after her even after she failed to get in last year, and keep pursuing her until he got her in? she must be good. we'll just have to wait and see.

Rosado is really good! She will be the starting libero, I have no doubts! Also, has a jump top spin serve (great one).

DeFelice was only brought in because they needed depth. According to a lot of people on this board, Hugh wanted to have Dixon play opposite last season but they didn't have any good middles to take her spot. Anyway, I'm sure Rosado is fantastic. And it's not like Lawmaster or Bohl have set the bar very high.

I don't think anyone on this board knows what Hugh wanted to do. The Dixon at opposite speculation was just that. Speculation. And (I hope) I always framed it that way.
And Tori played middle in Azerbaijan. So. I have no idea about what her future or best position is anymore.

2016 Recruit: Regan Pittman 6'3" MB Per RickKern She's from KC. I think she plays for the same club as 2015 Badger recruit Madison Duello.
