Me? I don't know who will set. Schau was certainly the more highly-touted of the two, however.
I just hope one of them shows Hugh she can run a 5-1 effectively.

So you don't think Handley will set? Lefty, blocks pretty well , has a good serve? None of that says absolutely anything about her as a setter.

Pretty sure the poster meant those were additional attributes.
I'm with you, however. I want Schau to excel. Seems the more likely of the two to do so. Of course, I'll be happy with either.

I saw both of them set this spring. At UNI at least, they switched off running a 5-1 every set. They played the same teams with pretty much the same line up on our side. IMO, it looked like both were trying to run a slightly fast offense than Palmer ran. IMO, Shau had a little better connection with the Tapps. Both setters were decent and I wouldn't have a problem with either one of them starting over the other. However, from what I saw back in April, I'd give a slight edge to Shau.

I've seen what Schau is capable of firsthand. I think she's an incredible talent and competitor. Bottom line, I want Minnesota to be good. I don't really care who sets the 5-1 (though I'd love to see Schau do it).

Pretty sure the poster meant those were additional attributes. I still very much wish people would describe setters by their communication skills, their ability to win, to compete, to lead, their execution, their decision-making, etc.

You can have the best mechanics and communicate well, but if you make poor decisions it is much harder on the hitters and team.

It's all about being 6'4" and left-handed these days.

The Pav's new scoreboard finally appears to be finished now. The twitter account of @cchapman1 has a picture of it. It looks nice!
-I also discovered that Penn State's roster is nearly twice as big as Minnesota's this year. Personally, I don't mind the smaller squad this season.

Hasn't she always been a middle? I'm confused. Why would she be a DS? She's likely filling the same role that De Felice had last year, and Haugen the year before.
