2015-
1. SSS (#8 SA) Setter 2. Taylor Morgan (#86 SA) Middle who could become a pin hitter at the U. Supreme athleticism, about 6'0. 3. Sophie Beckley (libero/ds) from Seattle. *Missed on Wallace-Ford and Caputo among others.
2016-
1. Brittany Mclean, 6'1 Outside. 16 Open All-American this year. I've heard conflicting opinions regarding her game though and whether she will actually be a big impact recruit for the U. Personally, I think she's a nice get for Hugh! 2. Regan Pittman, 6'3 Middle, Good hitter and a fine blocker, but a little slow. Not sure how good she is. *Still waiting to see on San Diego outside Jolie Rasmussen
2017-
Sydney Kleinman- 6-rotation OH from Texas, 6'2, has USA experience. Big time recruit no doubt. *Waiting on Sheehan, Martin, Johnston, Orr, (possibly Mosser) and others right now.

Away match at NW coming up soon. Is NW under the radar? Pablo ranking just a little below Minn. Its new setter was a top 15 recruit. Victories, albeit in 5, over Colorado and Ohio, two teams with somewhat better Pablo rankings that Minn's best victories (ISU, tOSU). Lost only to San Diego, albeit fairly easily. With the HCA, Pablo rates NW a slight favorite.

I think 0-2 this road trip is a definite possibility. REALLY would be happy with a split. Either match.
These are decent teams AND they are the first B1G road opponents for several players, even the sophomores.
Possible advantage is that they play Illinois BEFORE Wisconsin does. Illinois going 0-2 seems unlikely (assuming they would lose to Wisconsin if they played them on Wednesday).

Per Her Twitter:
"@laurenlitzau: I'm so incredibly proud and excited to announce that I've committed to play volleyball for the University of Minnesota!!!"
Lauren Litzau - 2016 - 5'7" S/OH (Greendale, WI)
Assuming she is going in as a libero

What do we know about Taylor Morgan, specifically in regard to the chances of her playing on the outside? I think she's currently listed on her high school website as OH, as was she listed in her Senior Aces profile, but I'm pretty sure she's been playing middle so far this year. Can anyone confirm? I agree that she may be a bit short for middle in the B1G, but could end up being a force on the left. Of course if that happens I have concerns about her ball control.

I thought that too, but I kind of figured we'd see Paige Tapp or Molly Lohman on the R side next year, which would make it unlikely Morgan would see time there until she was a junior.

We'll have a solidified RS by her junior year. But as for next year, I wouldn't count her out! 6'0, jumps out of the gym, power always wows me, and she blocks well. Her passing isn't ready for the college game, but we can always do the Rosado DS thing for 3 rotations.

Morgan just started playing again a couple of weeks ago after rehabbing the knee she hurt last year. I will see her twice this week and am looking forward to that and how she is playing. Well, maybe not looking forward too much to the second match as she will be playing the HS team I follow. But, she has been a dynamic player in the past and I hope she is able to regain her form and level of play. Good player and a good kid.

With athletes committing earlier and earlier, do people really expect all of these recruits to come through? I ask this not just in regards to the Gophers, but any team. Just seems like there's a lot of time for young kids to change their mind. I mean, I'd certainly expect most to be in a Gophers uniform, but I'd also expect to lose one or two.

I think most, if not all, would honor their commitments. But, you never know. Bigger question with younger recruits is if they will continue to improve or will they plateau? And, will they stay healthy?

It's not just whether the recruits stay healthy, but also current players. What would Minne do if, for example, Santana injured herself or got sick (mono or something else lengthy) and wanted to take a medical redshirt? She's good enough that Hugh'd probably want to do it, assuming her recovery prospects were good. That would eat up a scholarship that's verballed to an incoming player.
