BYU? No. They haven't made the Elite Eight since 2007.

USC will be ready for a run next year. Returning some fire power and were just a few points away from the finals.
My top 5.
Stanford-so much talent, think they will break through this season Texas- expecting them to solve the back row problems, replacing Bailey. USC- one word, Ebony. Washington-solid all around and getting some big freshman. Wisconsin- talent and exceptional setting.

BYU? No. They haven't made the Elite Eight since 2007. And stanford hasn't won a nc in how many years? And they haven't been to the Fjnal four since 2009 I believe. But that doesn't mean they aren't in the running come 2014. Prior to 2009, hawaii hasn't made a final four appearance since 2003 but that year they were an amazing team.

A tradition of winning consistently and managing expectations is very relevant. When's the last time Wisconsin had made the Elite 8 before this year. Oregon had NEVER made the Elite Eight and was a Top 5 team all year long in 2012. The tradition of winning consistently and managing expectations isn't nearly as important as talent. It's just that because of recruiting biases, those usually coincide.

BYU? No. They haven't made the Elite Eight since 2007. BYU got beat badly by Utah last week, with Hanson playing. Utah may surprise this season.

Spring season matches are usually not that indicative of how a team will do. Texas lost to rice. Nebraska lost to creighton and Wichita state this past sprint season. Suprised Utah won, but I still expect byu to be a top 5 team

Talent can only get you so far. If you've never been to the top and understand how difficult it is to get there, and, most importantly, STAY there, AND if you don't have a staff that understands that too, your talent doesn't matter at all. Mental trumps physical every day of the week. Expectations are a crazy thing.

I think USC should be ahead of Washington. Right?

I still think Stanford has to prove they can bring it without Wopat. I don't dislike the middles who will play in her place (haven't really seen much of them yet), but Wopat's ability, athleticism, fire, and leadership will be tough to replace.

Spring season matches are usually not that indicative of how a team will do. How would you know? From watching volleyball. The top teams always lose in spring season matches and if you wanna deny that fine by me, but you know it true. Nebraska would not have lost to creighton or Wichita state in regular season play. Texas would not have lost to rice. Byu will be good in 2014, and they will be a top ten team.

Wisconsin has good team and great player in carlini, but I am not sold in ine deep run. They were ok dying conference play got hot at right time and for great opening draw. Oregon would be my comparison also. Made championship one year and for that was rated extremley high all season and did nothing. Wisconsin needs to prove they can do it multiple seasons before I buy that
