Heard Joe Worsley is visiting Hawaii in a few weeks, anyone know if thats just vacation or a recruiting trip? Also Kysen Olsen is one of the best opposites in this class no doubt. He is going to Long Beach State as well Joe Worsley and Pat Gasman were both on their recruiting trip this past weekend. Hope they Commit to UH.

While Taylor Crabb from Long Beach and Mark Kocham from St Francis are both 6ft you will notice the rest of the players are ranging 6-2 to 6-9. Both have 40 plus verticals. I also Taylor was a top USAV A1/national team player. I believe if a player is 6ft tall and playing at the national level then he is a special player. In the Case of Rosenmeier vs Blevins. If you look at the HP site Rosenmeier is playing on the National team and A1 the year before. I believe Blevins has never played above the Continental level for USAV. Another side I was told by a different college coach that he could increase a players vertical 6 to 8 inches once he got him on a college lifting program and he could tell within 10 minutes watching the ability of the player to serve, hit and block whether he can play in college. The same coach said he did not look at what a hitter (OH/OPP) did in High School other then to make sure he was starting but rather what was more important was what he did in club because the setting and level of players was better where high school setters tend to focus on one player to set to. mvolleyfoll...Just FYI...Blevins has a 1996 bday and has always had to play up in HP. He made continental in 2011 at age 14 competing against 16 year olds and again in 2013 at age 16 beating out seniors born in 1994 winning the starting OH2 position. (didn't try out in 2012 or 2014). Besides the jr national team, there was no option last year because the old dominion region doesn't have an HP program. Bad HP birthday. Blevins, Irizarry and Scott on Coastal all have 1996 birthdays. Otherwise you'd see them at A1 or possibly even the YNT.

I don't disagree with what you have said I just believe Rosenmeier based upon size and skill is the best player to coming out of Virginia this year. He is more of the size and skill you find at the top programs then Blevins. Blevins is a top High School player and good club player but I think you will see that Rosenmeier will be a better college player who has a shot at the national team.

Not disagreeing with you either on Rosemeier. Just adding some background to your comment regarding HP.

California setter will sign with HawaiiBy Stephen Tsai, Honolulu Star-AdvertiserPOSTED: 01:30 a.m. HST, Oct 23, 2014 A highly regarded high school setter will join the University of Hawaii men's volleyball team next year. Joe Worsley of Campolindo High in Moraga, Calif., said he will sign next month when national letters of intent may be submitted. Worsley said he was attracted to the program, the chance to compete at setter, and the opportunity to return to the islands. He lived in Hawaii for two years as a pre-schooler while his father was an assistant with the UH's men's and women's volleyball programs. Worsley said he has memory bits of watching matches in the Stan Sheriff Center. "And then the beach a little bit," he said. "Besides that, not much. I was pretty young." Roger Worsley is administrator and founder of the Pacific Rim Volleyball Club. With Joe Worsley setting, Pacific Rim went 11-0 in the Junior National Tournament in Houston this past summer, claiming the 17-under Open championship. Worsley was named the tournament's most valuable player. "It was an awesome experience," Worsley said. "We have been training for four or five years (together). We've always been aiming for the national championship. It was an awesome feeling when we were finally able to get it. It was kind of a relief to accomplish what we were training for." Worsley said he has been training as a setter since he first began playing organized volleyball at age 7. "My dad has coached me, basically, my entire life," Worsley said. "He started training me as a setter." At 6 feet, Worsley also is a smart and effective blocker. As for setting, Worsley said, "I kind of like being the guy running the team and getting the guys going and being a leader on the court. That's my favorite part of setting." This year, Volleyball Magazine named Worsley as one of 25 underclassmen to watch. He said he looks forward to the next stage. "I love the environment of Hawaii, the culture they have there," Worsley said.

Matt Klassen out of Wisconsin to Stanford Big pickup for Stanford. I think Klassen could be an even better player for them than Kaminski has been. Stanford desperately needed to recruit pin hitters this year and they've already got two of the best in the class of 2015.

Kysen will keep a strong Coast team together, with a few good players from Seaside 17s. Where did this rumor come from? I heard it at the end of Nationals but it made no sense. Why would Seaside players go to Coast? Seaside is currently 4th in points, Coast is 25th. A couple of Coast players were seen at Seaside over the summer, no Seaside players went to Coast.

They wanted to get Seaside guys but that team wanted to stay together. Im sure they went after Brandon Rattray (Hawaii), Matt Younggren (UCI), Hunter Howell (Concordia), and Michael Keegan (Top setter in the area)

I am sure they wanted those guys but it sure sounded from the rumors that it was going to happen not just a wish by some Coast coaches. It seems that it was much more an attempt to keep Coast players from leaving that team then it ever was actually going to happen that Seaside players were going to jump to Coast. That is what all those Wave players did the year before and it didnt help the team.
