I was just wondering if anyone could tell me if there were any collegiate or Olympic volleyball video games out there right now. I have an International volleyball game for Sega Genesis. Other than that I haven't been able to locate any others.

There is a game for XBOX called "Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball" It has great 3D characters. It is intended for adolescent boys or adults with souped up testosterone. Boobs and all in this game are just excellent!!!! Also there is a FUNNY flash game that I play whenever I get bored ;D Here's the link: www.ebaumsworld.com/boomboomvolleyball.html

No actual volleyball games though, huh? Kinda sucks. Probably be awhile before they come out with one of those.

If they can make an 11-on-11 football simulation game, they can make a 6-on-6 volleyball simulation game.

I know of 2 for the 16-Bit Super Nintendo.
Dig-N-Spike Volleyball: Had beach and 6 man indoor. Pretty fun game, indoor was quite hard. Use of the top L and R buttins to control where the set was going to go. Could run quick sets and decoys. Didn't seem they hit the ball as hard as they should, but fun none the less.
Hyper V-Ball: This game is amazing. Incredibly fun. At first it looks hokey because it is only played two dimentionally with a side view from floor level, but that is quickly forgotten. Though you have six players who rotate through to serve, it also looks like there are only 4 guys on the court. Three at the net and one back row player you have control over. Though again this is forgotten. This game is all based on timing. You can jump serve, float, sky serve, run quick attacks, attacks out of the back row, run X's where the middle runs through just for another hitter to follow. It is incredibly fun. Learning to manipulate the controls to get the setter to put the ball where you want it and get the hitter to hit certain spots on the court takes some learning and is a fun process. If you can find it, i highly reccomend it.

Beach Spikers on gamecube. I was wondering about hardcourt vball too, but I don't think there are any recent ones. Anyway, beach spikers is supposed to simulate the beach world tour. It's pretty good, and 4 people can play at once.

To answer your question, no Jalap, I have not seen any collegiate or olympic games.
That genesis game you have is called Super Volleyball. It is based off the arcade version also known by the same name. It's one of my favorites, albeit being side view at court level.
There were other games that come to mind. Some have been been mentioned already:
SNES: Hyper V-ball - basically Super Volleyball but with more additions, Dig N Spike volleyball (recommended) Genesis: Super Volleyball PlayStation: Break Volley (also known as The Volleyball in Japanese) PlayStation 2: Volleyball Xciting (Europe Only/PAL), Summer Heat Beach Volleyball - arcade style too and it's pretty fun Saturn: Virtua Volleyball - nothing exciting. Gamecube: Beach Spikers - very fun arcade style beach volleyball. recommended
I don't consider Outlaw Volleyball for XBOX or PS2 anything great. it's really a stupid game. avoid it. There was also another volleyball game for XBOX which had female characters from the DOA series called Dead Or Alive Extreme Beach Volleyball. Avoid that one too. If you like staring at CG generated girls with bouncing boobies and arses then you'll like it. It was nice to look at but lacked substance and gameplay.
I have pretty much tried and have all of the above, save for the XBOX games, but I do highly recommend Dig N Spike for SNES, Beach Spikers for Gamecube, Super Volleyball for Genesis, and Summer Heat Beach Volleyball for PS2. You won't regret it.

Summer Heat Beach Volleyball for PS2 is pretty realistic. I have fun playing it all the time Not really, considering how long the rallys last. It's pretty unrealistic in that aspect. I remember having a rally last a little over 2 minutes (yes I timed it) b/c the computer would dig up the ball and I would dig up the ball too. Especially if you have the game difficulty set at Very Hard, be prepared to sit in front of the tube trying to put a kill or block down. It's fun and arcade style, which is what makes the game appealing.
