I was kind of surprised myself that NBC did not air the Men's final, but I must admit watching Phil and Rosie is like watching paint dry.....The women just bring fire!! I agree with Volleyballjim....Kerri is so marketable.....She can talk the talk and then walk the walk.....I keep thinking, I can't believe that I didn't think Kerri & April would mesh as a team...Now I'm thinking they haven't even hit their stride yet....Still holding on to hope that Misty will unretire and go for a 4th gold with Kerri....

@ Goldengirl3 Misty and Kerri will no way no how reunite for the Olympics. Kerri and April are killing it and barring a real bad injury or worse event they will be playing in the Olympics together.

Misty's done. Even if she came back Kerri isn't winning another Gold with her and no way does she drop April for her.
I personally cannot stand Kerri and will be glad when she is done playing. At the rate she is currnetly playing that may not be for another 10 years.

Over-celebrating beating opponents three or five inches shorter in height and probably twice or more in wingspan disadvantage. The PR stunts like telling the media she told Summer Ross she'd fly back with her to the states in the middle of a tourney. The relentless chirpy never ending happiness kumbaya vibe and talking pitch.

What I heard on the broadcast was that the entire US team (both genders, all players) offered to travel back with her, not just Walsh. I thought that was an amazing display of compassion, not a PR stunt. Maybe I am naive to believe it, but you constantly hear stories about how close the volleyball community is and I chose to believe this was another example of that.

To be fair, the flying back home with Summer idea wasn't just Kerri - it was every USA women's team at the event, and the offer was legit - they all would have dropped out if Summer took them up on it. There was no way Summer would have agreed to it, though.

The PR stunts like telling the media she told Summer Ross she'd fly back with her to the states in the middle of a tourney. The relentless chirpy never ending happiness kumbaya vibe and talking pitch. This is exactly why I can't stand Kerri - I just think she's way far over the top. I can respect she is absolutely great for the sport of Beach Volleyball and I just am glad I don't follow the women as much as the men or I would really be irritated. If anyone hears of a replay with the mens final from Long Beach please post here. I was hoping we'd hear something about NBC re-airing it but have not heard anything yet.

So a team that gets 15 chances a year to make money is going to give one up to fly home with someone who they aren't that close with? (assuming Summer is not BFFs with every single player) Would you do that for your 10th best friend for example? (meaning give up 10% of your annual income) If teams were willing to do that then its dumb and unprofessional, but either way, anybody but Summer putting it out there is self-serving
