You should have added a few LOLs and OMGs to that last post. The Hahas just don't have the pop you needed.

Thaisa has never hit a bic in her life. So far we've learned you haven't kept up with USA's men's team during this WL nor watched any Superliga matches with Osasco last season. Less posting more learning! I agree... This Plec guy whatever his username is... Haha

In-system back row quick set in the middle of the court usually (not always) run right behind the front row quick attacker. Team USA does it in serve-receive with the back row opposite. Thaisa ain't the first option when she's in the front row, let alone the back row. Thanks for the clarification, dude.. but I know I was just curious to how you define a Bic.. I hit those sets myself..

Right....because sportswriters doing feature articles on Olympic athletes never embellish facts or make stuff up. That 43-inch vertical is 100% verified. LOL.
I can believe low-to-mid 30's for Hooker, and that she probably touches in the low-to-mid 11 foot range on the Vertec.
[/quote] She's actually self-reported that on social media. So you're calling her a liar (and hey, maybe she is)

Well, here's the roster from London 2012. I always take the numbers the FIVB reports with a grain of salt. But, it doesn't show Hooker's spike and block jumps as being otherworldly. Tayyiba's numbers were higher than hers, but Haneef-Park was 3-4 inches taller than her with a much higher standing reach. www.fivb.org/EN/Olympics/London2012/TeamsVB-W.asp?Team=USA

Well, I'll call BS on a 43" vert. On a 6'4" frame like Hooker's, she would be touching close to 12' unless she has T-Rex arms. And she doesn't have T-Rex arms, nor is she touching anywhere near 11'10 or whatever. More like 11'2" (which is fantastic in its own right, of course).
Generally speaking, the only time I take touch claims as gospel is if I'm standing next to the Vertec holding a clipboard.

Check out high jump results and figure it out.

I've had a couple of high jumpers, including an Olympian, out on the beach attempting to make a go of it on the AVP. Their verts weren't off the charts by any means (neither could match Walsh or EY, who both could hit a bit over 10' - in the sand). Hooker clearly can sky, do doubt about it, certainly not trying to take anything away from her remarkable athleticism - but 43"? Nah.
