It would be less detrimental compared to an athlete playing volleyball/basketball, but detrimental nonetheless. I presume Kalynn will throw in college which does interfere with volleyball development, especially since she needs the year round technical focus, but it is what it is. She can still be successful at both, but college is a big step up and specialization is preferable if she wants to maximize development. That's not even considering all the other time constraints on student-athletes. As long as she plays on the volleyball team, and is on an athletic scholarship; she will be a 'volleyball counter'. But she can play volleyball for 4 of her 5 available years, and concentrate on throwing for 1 of her 5 years thus being on a 'track scholarship' only that 1 year and not playing volleyball! An interesting 5-year graduation plan to develop I think! Track doesn’t get as many scholarships as VB, when you consider the number of athletes on each team. While track can award partial scholarships, I’m not sure they would use much of their allocation on a one event athlete, even one as talented as Kalynn.

Track is a partial-scholarship sport. She'd be on a volleyball scholarship because its a full one.

There are over 120 members; men + Women; and get less scholarships than VB? GO HUSKERS

Just speculating IMO stuff and I am relatively new NE volleyball follower within last 5 yrs. The 2019 Huskers seems particularly talented group as has been the case in recent last years. Recruiting is obviously strong.
My speculation is; has entering the BIG helped recruiting; it seems to me it has. Other factors also contribute: program history and reputation, Cook's coaching, commitment to player development, and sand volleyball. Any thoughts on the BIG helping recruitment or other factors?

Ah, Kurkova not returning. That helps to explain things a little bit.

With NE entering the B1G: It has made it easier for NE to recruit the Midwest - As Midwest Recruits would be able to play in front of friends and family at least a few times a year. And with the B1G expanding to the East Coast (Maryland and Rutgers) - Who knows! Beach Volleyball has forced all Husker participants to become all-around complete volleyball players - as the effects have shown up during the indoor season. Yes; On Cook's coaching and Team Success. And you are so right on player development: By helping train a player who wants to succeed in playing volleyball beyond college, and/or getting into coaching volleyball.

The remodel of Bob Devaney and the the 8500+ at every home match hands down #1 recruiting advantage

The remodel of Bob Devaney and the the 8500+ at every home match hands down #1 recruiting advantage They plan on building a new volleyball arena in 2025. They will be tearing down the city campus rec center and building a new one in a new area. Likely to seat 10,000+ right where the Colosseum is/was. Bigger and better around the corner. This will come out in a few years. Wrestling, track and gymnastics to stay in devaney.

I don't know about 2018 but in 2017 the highest attendance figure at home was 8,453.

My figure represented the highest attendance figure for the year, not the average. Nebraska draws better than anyone else in the country. There's no need to embellish the truth.

And now I'm going to be impatiently imagining how the new arena will look should it get the green light, so thanks for that haha.
