I know you have a loaded recruiting class and don’t need her, but could someone who has seen her tell me what Illinois is getting in Kyla Swanson? Thanks. She is actually relation, and I won't be biased in saying you'll be getting someone who doesn't have the highest ceiling, but you will be getting someone who works her ass off. (pardon my french).

It’s all talk behind the scenes right now. Talk about a stand-alone volleyball arena and athletic facility for football is picking up steam lately. I don’t know where the new arena would be. I think it would be too crowded for a new arena to replace the NU Coliseum. I would like to see a new arena in a more open area with more land. There’s huge talk about moving Ed Weir Stadium (NU track & field facility) somewhere else so a new football Taj Mahal building can be built in its place. Golf facilities are mentioned along with a new aquatics facility for the swimming and diving teams. So the next building phase in the athletic department is gonna be a whopper! Plans are being put together for improvements to Memorial Stadium. There’s talk about a major overhaul of the south stadium among other things. I’m really interested in seeing the upcoming athletic facilities master plan. It’s been several years since a study was done and a master plan put together. Why do you think there’s not enough room for a new arena where the old coliseum is? First of all would a new arena fit where the NU Coliseum now stands? Space is limited there. Not only is more room needed for a modern stadium, but it’s needed for free flow of what maybe 11,000 plus people? Modern amenities, perks, and high tech stuff need to fit in there too, think Hendricks Training Complex tied to/within this new arena. Hendricks has spacious locker rooms, study area, player lounges, film rooms and team rooms. The weight room, athletic medicine areas and coaches offices are just steps away from the practice courts. The NU Coliseum is located right next to Ed Weir Stadium. If a new football facility replaces Ed Weir, would it be available to volleyball? There’s just so many things that need to be considered and that we don’t know about. What will they do with Cook Pavilion located directly behind NU Coliseum, renovate it for volleyball or knock it down? What will happen with the facilities in North Stadium? So there’s plenty to consider. It’s exciting to me to see what will happen in keeping the volleyball program THE forerunner in the NCAA.

The remodel of Bob Devaney and the the 8500+ at every home match hands down #1 recruiting advantage They plan on building a new volleyball arena in 2025. They will be tearing down the city campus rec center and building a new one in a new area. Likely to seat 10,000+ right where the Colosseum is/was. Bigger and better around the corner. This will come out in a few years. Wrestling, track and gymnastics to stay in devaney. Alright bball I've tried to be patient but I can't be any longer 😜. Do you think this along with all the other rumored projects will be announced at the same time? Or are they going to announce each project as it gets the approval?

I just asked one day about Cook and what he was most looking forward to accomplishing in the coming years. And they said he was looking forward to helping along the process of building the new Mega Volleyball Complex downtown in Lincoln. And they just said they plan on moving volleyball to their own arena and he wanted to be part of that building process. Expected to break ground in 2025. That's all I got.

I've heard some local rumors of Meyer enrolling early. Any truth? It would require some major sacrifices. Is she going to pay tuition for the spring '20 semester? Miller doesn't come off scholarship until May. Stivrins can elect to release her redshirt senior season scholarship, but that would also be in May. A random/potential transfer out of the program probably wouldn't happen until May. In addition, would she forgo senior year basketball and track?

Basketball however might be tough for them next year (especially if Meyer enrolls early) because their best guard is supposedly leaving. As far as tuition, I don't think that family would have a lot of trouble covering a semester of tuition.

That's the part that doesn't make much sense. Like I said it was a local rumor.
