The Huskers looked good against this pro Chinese team in games one and two, It would be nice to see games three, four and five if someone has them. I know from the Husker website they won. I agree the middles looked much improved. Impressed with Hunter and her "game management" like Cook said in the article about this game. Also Hunter really moved the offense around and seemed to connect with the OH's, MB's and RS's.

Amber still needs to work on her hitting errors on the RS out there.

She reads the opposing offense with ease, has quick feet, and times her jump really well. She's also a much better offensively than I remember from last year.

I would hope if all things being equal between the two that Kelly would get the nod. Hunter is the future of the volleyball team. I don't think Cook will red shirt her if Mary is the starter, he didn't last season and all Hunter got out of it was an injury and one wasted year of eligibility. If all things are equal, there is no doubt, you start Pollmiller. She was unanimously elected a team captain. She was a leader on this team last year and obviously the team looks to her a a leader this year as well. Starting the younger player because they have more athletic potential is a little crazy to me. Mary is a fantastic setter and will be great for the Huskers. When it is Hunter's turn she'll get the keys to the car.

Ostrander on the RS, and Amber at OH. If Ostrander has indeed improved enough as Cook has stated.

If she is high error offensively, moving her left isn't necessarily the best option. At this point her best skill by far is blocking, her playing on the right makes a lot of sense.

HH... That's not what's best for the team. You don't know until you try it Nebraska....!!! They do try it every day in practice. If Cook is starting Pollmiller, it's because Cook believes she's the right person to set at this time. If she doesn't perform well, Hunter will play. Cook sat Broekhuis her senior year in favor of a freshman; he doesn't play upperclassmen for the sake of it. He's starting Mary because she's proven to be the better player at this point. If/when Hunter outplays Mary consistently in practice, then she'll be the starter. Let it play out.

Last year Mary was simply way more ready, I would put my money on her again but there is definitely competition for the setter position after this spring.

HH... That's not what's best for the team. You don't know until you try it Nebraska....!!! Correct. But I'll let coach Cook make those decision regarding what's best for the team. Not saying he's infallible, but he has a pretty decent track record.
