All Valid points. I think UGA is on the right track. Lost a plenty of talent and senior leadership from last season but the new players are fighters. I expect a couple of big wins this season. We may not make it in but it wont be from lack of effort.
Stemke and staff have the program heading in the correct direction. UGA is a great school a top education so hopefully recruiting the elite Volleyball prospects will come easier and easier.

Stemke has the program going in right direction and they will take a couple of matches this year that were not expected to do, the youth will take a little while to form, too long for a run this year.
I am curious to see how LSU does against Florida State and UTSA because those will be common opponents with the Aggies

...And I will be the first to admit that my prediction of my vols emergence was premature. They are a mess and I think that Rob is in trouble... The issue at Tennessee is a lot of people assumed last year was the rebuilding year, when in fact this is. With all the players who left after the 2012 season, UT had to scramble to find players just to field a team in time for 2013. They didn't have time to do anything more than fill spots on a roster. THIS is the first season since the defections when the school was able to actually go out and recruit a team -- really fill needs, be pickier, and have a much wider group of players to choose from. So there probably is a lot of talent. But this is a very inexperienced team and a very young team -- out of 16 players, there 13 freshmen, sophomores, and a junior transfer that hasn't played at UT before. It's going to take some time for them to really gel into a something. And that could take time, maybe even another season or two. I'm not trying to be a homer here. But realistically looking at what happened, fans (and haters) need to understand that this is almost a total rebuild from scratch. And while it may have technically started last year, 2014 is really the first year they've been able to bring in the all the pieces they need to start to rebuild.

Opponents win % is 50% of RPI. If teams the SEC loses to start also losing conference matches, that RPI can sink quickly.

Alabama does not have it with there best player a 5'10 middle and no passing. You clearly haven't watched Alabama play this year as they have moved Rivers to the right side (where she takes significantly more swings) and have stud freshman (Hudson) playing in the middle who is easily 6'2". I was surprised that Alabama dropped two matches this weekend but I don't think that negates them from being a serious contender in the SEC this season. Obviously you haven't either. Hutson, as it is correctly spelled, is an outside hitter.

Regardless... more height in the middle and offensive power than the original poster implied.

"Offensive Player of the Week Nakeyta Clair • Ole Miss Junior • MB • 6-1 • Country Club Hills, Illinois Clair was named the Memphis Invitational MVP after posting double-digit kills in all three matches, including a career-high 20 against UT-Martin, to lead the Rebels to their second straight tournament title and their best start since the 2007 season. With the Rebels facing match point in the fifth set against Memphis, Clair's 18th kill tied the set, as the Rebels went on to win it 16-14. For the week, she owned a .463 hitting percentage and recorded 55 kills and nine total blocks. Defensive Player of the Week Desiree McCray • Georgia Redshirt Sophomore • MB • 6-2 • Columbia, S.C. McCray helped her team to a perfect 3-0 record, making Georgia just one of three SEC teams that finished with a perfect record last weekend and the only team that swept each team that they faced. She led the team with 10 blocks on the weekend and tied for the most solo blocks with three. For the year, McCray leads the team with 27 blocks. She shined offensively as well, hitting at a .333 clip for the weekend, including a .462 efficiency against Belmont. Freshman of the Week Stephanie Aiple • Texas A&M Freshman • S • 6-1 • Round Rock, Texas Aiple was named to the all-tournament team after leading Texas A&M to three consecutive victories and Ohio University's Baymont Inn & Suites Invitational championship title. She drew the first start of her career in A&M's tournament opener against host Ohio and had 39 assists and seven digs in the sweep. In the second start of her career, Aiple posted her first double-double with 28 assists and a team-high 11 digs as A&M swept Virginia Tech. In A&M's final match of the tournament, Aiple had 52 assists along with two kills, seven digs, two blocks and an ace as the Aggies came back to defeat VCU to finish the tournament undefeated. She started every match and played in every play of the 11 sets throughout the tournament and averaged 10.82 assists per set and was third on the team with 2.27 digs per set." www.secsports.com/article/11488364/clair-mccray-aiple-earn-player-week-honors

Evangelista and Lawrence in the middle? Regardless... more height in the middle and offensive power than the original poster implied. Correct. Lawrence and Evangelista at middle. Hutson and Thomas at left side. Rivers opposite and Wilson setting. Morison and Daniels splitting time at libero and DS. Couple others have subbed in and played. OP was correct about the defense unfortunately. 3 freshmen and a transfer are starting and defense is a little shakey at times. But they have also had some stretches where they looked really good. Expect Alabama to be a lot better by the end of the season.

Did anyone watch the Kentucky-Louisville game? I didn't. Gametracker stats: Kentucky won in 4...25-20 15-20 25-21 25-19. Maya had 56 TA .179 and Workman 46 TA .348. Wondering if it was a good game or errors?
