Anyone wanna take a stab at the top 5 in the league this year? No doubt UF #1 - might go 18-0. From there, LSU, Mizzou, UK, LSU, Bama and Ark all in the mix?

Thanks Thrill. I hope you will be able to make to Gville for some matches. I really want to but I don't know if it'll work out. The bus leaves too early on Fridays that I'd have to skip work and too late on Sundays that I'd have to miss the match to get home. Its times like these I really appreciate the rides I've received to get there. I looked into a few away matches where I could fly to visit family but that's just not the same as my Gator family in the O'Dome.

Georgia should finish in the top 3-5 more talent and fight then most posters think.
Speaking of good wins in the NCAA tourney last year. Georgia loss to American was no mistake American was loaded and a very good team. After beating UGA they took out DUKE on their home court. Then finished the season with a loss to TEXAS while taking a set. Most talk about LSUs win over Michigan which was Awesome for the SEC. Very proud of the Dawgs and there turn around the last two seasons. I dont see it ending this season either.

Missouri with a vote to finish first in the SEC?!?! At least one voter has a sense of humor.

Well since it is a rule that you can't vote for your own team we can assume where it came from.

In fact, despite their uptick in wins the past two seasons, the next 2-3 years will be the measuring stick much more than the last few for Coach Stempke since she's relied so heavily on the previous staff's recruits up to now. UG is losing 2 of their 3 top point scorers, 2 of their 3 top blockers, and all four of their main serve receivers. Not saying there is not talent there; it's just that the Bulldogs relied very heavily on their senior class in many of their biggest wins. On another note, despite American's success after its defeat of Georgia in the tourney, I thought the Georgia team acted too much like they were just glad to be there, and it showed on the court. That's at least in part on the staff. I still believe Georgia could have taken out AU with a more focused approach.

Is he bringing up Georgia's LOSS to American to be on par with "good wins" for the conference?

No not comparing it to good wins. Just making a statement that American was a top 20 team so I would consider it a tough loss for UGA to a very strong team. Also Coaches last name is Stemke. I know all the stats was at many of the games. Those positions will be filled by very talented players. Who will fight. One of the new back row players was involved in the win over Kentucky and will fight even harder given the starting role. I expect a possible different offense this year we will see. If so a very athletic and fast offense. Passing and serving will be the main key as it is in most every match.
Just an opinion does not mean it is correct. Kinda like the predictions last season where the Dawgs where going to make it to the NCAA tourney and MIZZU would go undefeated while beating Florida twice!!!!!!!

I had posted this in another thread but thought it would get some interest here so I'm reposting. I took the data Rich Kern provided on % of production lost due to graduation as a starting point. Then I updated that data to include all roster changes due to transfers and other players losses. To roll it up into a single number I averaged the losses due to Kills, Assists, Aces, Digs and Total Blocks. This is what you get for the SEC. Team | 2013 Standings | % Lost Graduation | % Lost Graduation and Transfer | | | | | Missouri | 1 | 43.4 | 43.4 | Florida
| 2
| 34.2
| 34.2
| Kentucky
| 3 | 30.7
| 30.7
| Alabama
| 4 | 12.4
| 12.7
| Georgia
| 4 | 39.3
| 57.3
| Auburn
| 6 | 66.8
| 72.2
| Texas A&M
| 6 | 47.5
| 56.1
| Arkansas
| 8 | 50.8
| 51.6
| LSU
| 9 | 6.7
| 7.3
| Ole Miss
| 10 | 13.5
| 24.8
| Mississippi State
| 11 | 4.9
| 74.5
| South Carolina
| 11 | 21.6
| 27.0
| Tennessee
| 13 | 18.7
| 36.3

Wow, Thrill, this is a great thread and you did an amazing amount of work to provide this. Thanks.
Hope you can find a ride to G'ville this season. Are there any players (Gators or opponents) from SWFL that would have parents driving up for matches?
