So who is your #1? All the top teams lost a lot, and PSU's the team bringing in the #1 recruiting class.... Stanford Ok. Well, they lose a lot as well -- two 4-year starters, and they don't have Haleigh & Friends coming in either.

Just look at offense and defense stats lost by graduation between the teams. PSU has plenty of talent coming in, but I really only expect 2 of the freshmen to start.

Not because you're a Stanford fan, are ya? I think it's pretty clear from my posting history that I'm a Nebraska fan. I'm also a closet Berkeley fan since it's my alma mater. Given regional rivalries, Stanford would be pretty low on my "fandom" hierarchy, but I still respect them quite a bit.

Ok, all of last year on this board UW was Washington and now it's Wisconsin. Let's settle on something, how about it (made all the more confusing when a Washington poster is talking about the Badgers). Nebraska should be above Wisconsin. That's my only 2 cents. UW= Washington Wisconsin= Wisconsin Wiscy = Wisconsin Washy =/ Washington

The return arguable the best middle in the nation in inly, one of the best setters in bugg (she's top three, behind micha and carlini). And they return two very solid 6 rotation OH in Howard and Burgess. Their whole team, minus Gilbert was predicted to be all PAC 12 conference. Not to mention, a lot of people, even non Stanford fans have said McGehee is the real deal, and that she would start at nearly every other program. I do think psu will still be a force to reckon with, I mean they have the best player in the NCAA in micha and the best coach, but Stanford IMO, is the favorite to take it all this year

An interesting way (I think) to look at things. Here are the number of matches each of the top 25 teams has against other preseason top 25 teams for the season..
My only real thoughts about this are 1. Hawaii's schedule is embarassing and appears lazy. 2. Texas has a clear path to year end #1. 3. The addition of Rutgers and Maryland has a negative impact on potential RPI for some B1G teams more than others. 4. Teams best positioned to over-perform ranking because of "big win opportunities" I think are Illinois, Minnesota, North Carolina and Arizona State.
1. Penn State- 11 2, Texas- 4 3. Stanford- 10 4. Washington- 7 5. USC- 9 6. Wisconsin- 12 7. Nebraska- 13 8. Purdue- 9 9. BYU- 4 10. Florida- 7 11. Illinois- 11 12. Minnesota- 11 13. Florida State- 6 14. San Diego- 5 15. Missouri- 2 16. Michigan State- 10 17. Hawaii- 1 18. Colorado State- 3 19. Kentucky- 5 20. North Carolina- 7 21. Duke- 5 22. Kansas - 5 23. Creighton- 5 24. American- 3 25. Arizona State- 7

I am a little surprised cause I generally agree with your posts but nope she is not for me. I think several players are better than her but I guess she is definitely on the short list for NPOY. I would say if it was one single player it still is Vansant.

Texas has 5 matches against other pre-season top 25 teams. I think I read that 13/29 matches for the Huskers are against preseason top 25 teams. Of course, being in the Big 10 it stands to reason.

I am sure it would be if Hawaii had done some aggressive scheduling.
