I don't know if the rules allow a challenge of the challenge, but it definitely was a ridiculous scene.

The down ref is the one who walks over to the replay station and decides. He was from Japan, and he was over-ruled by the up ref. It was a tough call to see. The replay camera angles were so much better at some of the other venues. I found it interesting that they came back with video clip captioned 'no fault' 3 or 4 times and then finally they came back with 'line violation' because the refs couldn't agree. If the head referee is going to overrule video replay he should at least have to go over to the small monitor so he can get the very best view possible. I do not understand how the ruling can be made in Turkeys favor initially and then Russia can argue and have it repeatedly reviewed over and over. It seems like one challenge should be in place and once the review is completed that's the end of it. Watching the players, coaches, fans stand there while the Official went back and forth repeatedly ruling then re-ruling was ridiculous. Yeah, that was kinda nuts. Godze was getting really into it and I think it affected her the last few points. I think the up ref should have deferred to the technicians. It wasn't an obvious line violation. Her sole might not have made contact w/ the line. I think in cases of it being extremely ambiguous they should stick w/ the original call.

China without Zhu Ting is not incredibly threatening...Lang Ping is definitely looking ahead to the World Championships And Hui RQ and Wei. I'm not impressed by China's other setters. I'd like to see a better libero than Shan. JLP is definitely struggling to find a capable passer hitter. Zeng has not been good in the few instances she had to pass. Seems like China really wants tall girls that can hit the crap out of the ball, but unfortunately most of them haven't been able to pass well. The skill level between the squads from China and Japan was night and day.

bra outscored bel 75-34 with their usual starters - tandara starting for sheilla & others subbing in during the 3rd game. interesting that the coach wanted starters working about an hour rather than resting any of them for the day. there must be no fitness problems..

Probably just want to make sure they win without going to a fifth for more points.

rather than being sure of 3 points, more likely the coach wanted them to kick some butt & get the confidence boost for the rest of the GP & heading into the WC. the B team players available on the roster would take care of belgium & get some experience - which coach isnt interested in right now
sunderland has recovered from whatever.. sushi surprise?

Turkey vs Russia. Ugh. And BS with all those challenge calls. I was pulling for Turkey but they gave up too many points when they were up by 3 or 4. And going to the OH three times in a row against 3 big blockers. Frustrating but fun to watch. I was impressed with Turkey's team. But I sure don't like the two libero system.

sonsirma & akman were average compared to yesterday against russia, but ozsoy was excellent tho not enough to make up for them. wish the usa had a libero like karadayi (not playing middle back too)

She is very bad. They only thing she does good is defense.. She is a very bad passer, in fact many teams target her including Guidetti with Germany this WGP. She also is bad at giving free balls... Similar to Davis

I don't know if its justified but I am comparing the previous Grand Prix matches from previous years..this year seem to be kinda lethargic.

Similar to Davis obviously not enough - she was moving well & getting to balls that nearly always hit the floor on usa. seemed to pass & dig the heat well too. to be precise i should have said "had a libero who played like karadayi today"
