That's a good way to describe last night's match: going through the motions. I don't think they can just "go thru the motions" against a resurgent Davis squad tonight. It would have been great to see Brinke and Miley see some playing time against a squad that is nearly at the bottom of the NCAA's RPI system. As for BG's tactics, although he is overwhelmingly cautious, I think he surprised many in Bakersfield when he moved TJ from the libero position to outside hitter. If Hudson is still reeling from her on court collision with Reid at Cal Poly and back up setter Missy Owens is injured, he needs to give Cabrajac some game time at setter.

Maybe Brian is waiting for this week's exhibition against the Chinese team to do some of these suggested changes (which I agree with). Yet, they could have sat their five best players all night and still would have swept Riverside in three. UC Riverside is not fit for the Big West in any sport. Cal State Bakersfield would be a much more competitive fit.

The October 27th NCAA Women's Volleyball RPI rankings have the top 3 Big West teams in the top 36 RPI rankings in the nation. Hawaii--14-5, 6-3--came in at #30. CSUN--14-6, 5-3--is #32. Finally, conference leading Long Beach State--18-4, 8-0--is at #36 in the latest RPI rankings. My question is: if all three Big West teams--Hawaii, CSUN, and Long Beach St.--remain in the top 40 of the NCAA Volleyball RPI rankings to the end of the regular season, will the conference receive 3 bids to the tournament?

I agree, thanks. Brinke was quite impressive. She is not as effective as Bukovec on the block; however, she has a good arm and she knows where to place the ball. It was great to see Miley on the court again. She seemed to regain her confidence after a shaky start. I look forward to a great match at CSUN on Saturday.

Bukovec had a pull hammie. She should be able to go against Northridge.

Good volleyball atmosphere. Great resilience by Long Beach to take set 1. . Hawaii some very good digs for that 6 point run.
LB needs to cover Taylor going down the line every time.
Hawaii had 6 blocks and lost the set - incredible.

best performance by a Long Beach team tonight in years. Reid having the game of her life. Hawaii's block is really good, and LB is just digging everything - this team can wear on opponents. when LB passes like this, they are going to do well, so far handling Hawaii's serve.

Right now, Long Beach is simply the better team. 47-37 dig advantage, but I can't get over 22 kill set 2 alone! Hawaii losing, but I have to appreciate what the Beach is bringing.

Hawaii will set harder set 3, Hawaii has to apply pressure to disrupt LB - but LB's passing is really focused. Hawaii just not getting as good of looks as LB,
