Watched Texas Tech on TV this weekend and they are not impressive at all. Struggled against both Texas State and Incarnate Word. Incarnate Word, is not a power house just a very average DI team that is getting good coaching. Relatively new to DI, not sure how new, 3-4 years?

Incarnate was d1 just last year '13. So they're in year two. This year is the first year of full funding. Rumor was last year they only had ten scholarships.

Undefeated
Oregon 8-0 Stanford 7-0 Utah 9-0 Washington 9-0 Obviously at most one of these four could go undefeated for the season. Mostly likely none of them will.

Appalachian State 14-0 Florida State 11-0 Loyola Marymount 12-0 Ole Miss 14-0 Oregon 9-0 Stanford 10-0 Texas 8-0 Texas Tech 12-0 Washington 11-0 Delaware State's new head coach was 2-22 last year so with 0-9 this year there has to be some discomfort, but they do have 4 home matches vs teams with a pablo of 310 or lower so they'll have a couple of shots. NC A&T won one non-conference match in 2011 and again in 2013 so I guess they just struggle in even years. Good news is they play NC Central this week so one of them has to win, and along with SC State they have 2 matches each vs Savannah State, and Ga Southern has one so you can assume they will all get into the win column. Fordham has a home and away with LaSalle so I like their chances to win a match or 2. The one I'm worried about is Bradley. They have a Pablo of 257, but other then 2 matches vs Evansville (259) and a home date with Drake (222) they are sizable underdogs in every match.

Obviously at most one of these four could go undefeated for the season. Mostly likely none of them will. That wasn't the point. The point was that CERTAINLY at most one could, which sets a limit on the POSSIBLE number of undefeated teams going into the tournament.

And Texas Tech and Texas cannot remain undefeated. IMO, Appalachian State and Texas are most likely to be undefeated going into the Big Dance. And IMO, one of the two is likely to head to the sidelines quickly a la undefeated Missouri last year. But maybe for the second consecutive year, eastern teams starting with an "A" will be spoilers.

What happened to Morehead State? They were a tournament team last year.

What happened to Morehead State? They were a tournament team last year. Nothing too crazy and a fairly typical story for mid level DI schools. Big graduation losses, best returning player injured during spring ball, counting on lots of young players, + probably too ambitious of a pre-season schedule. VoilĂ you get a rough season. Jaime is doing fine as are the players.

Georgia Southern was also a tournament team last season. Very tough preseason schedule.
