Loyola Marymount drops a five-setter at Pacific tonight. And Montana wins a five-setter at Weber State! Guess we should put Weber State on the hot seat thread. 3-11 (currently) with the chances for more wins likely gone with the preseason losses and the home loss to Montana. 7-27 in 2013 11-21 in 2012 3-26 in 2011

Georgia Southern was also a tournament team last season. Very tough preseason schedule. not the reason they are 0-fer...given the level of play from them in years past, they should have had at least 4-5 wins

Washington has to go through a tough Pac-12 schedule, but should be favored in every match except one, which should be a toss-up (Stanford @ UW). Last year they lost only twice in conference, @ Stanford and @ Colorado, and this season they don't visit Stanford. I don't expect they'll be upset by Colorado again, but upsets are always possible in the Pac-12.

They may be "favored" but those teams could easily beat Washington

It's not just Oregon and Utah. Until they lose, UW & Stanford will have targets on their back. Big crowds at every venue when these teams visit and extra-motivated opponents. Even Corvalis & Pullman can be challenging.
I'd agree that Stanford and then UW are favored to finish at the top, but a slightly off night will lead to a loss for either team.

Eugene will be tough. Also, don't discount the Arizona schools. UW has shown that they can hit for a high percentage (2nd in the nation) with their diversity of attack compensating for somewhat shaky passing and setting. And they've got a hammer in Vansant.

I wouldn't discount the possibility of Cal winning tonight, actually.

I really can't see anyone going through the PAC-12 season undefeated this year. The bottom-feeders are all actually pretty good, and it just takes one off night.

I wouldn't discount the possibility of Cal winning tonight, actually. Cal took UW to five at Berkeley last year, with Higgins with 21 kills (.326). Vukasovic also had a good night, with 17 kills (.389), although she's been injured (back tonight?). Vansant had 28 kills (.319).

They lost, hitting negative for the match! In three sets team scores 31 point, how can you win?
