Good thread to start already. **DISCLAIMER** I completely understand that my opinions will not impact the firing of a coach. Nor do I want them to be. This post is just food for thought and discussion and I even considered some teams just having a tough preseason or a potentially bad year... this season. Early on for the BIG 10... Can't help but to put Indiana's Dunbar-Kruzan out there. They are 7-1 right now... but the competition has been rather weak and losing to University of Illinois Chicago... no bueno. They will get WHACKED in conference. Ohio State as well... under performing with the talent they have. SEC... Rob Patrick. Lost to Coastal Carolina today... not looking good. Lizzy Stemke at Georgia, only 4th year in, but getting beat by Harvard... ouch. BIG 12... I think they are all safe Big West... I think they are all safe. MWC... Lawanson at Nevada, just not getting it done. Pressure should be on this season. Garus at Boise State, never been above .500 in conference in his 5 year tenure there. Always weak out of conference schedule and definitely under performing. MVC... all should be safe. PAC-12... Tricky conference. I'll stick my neck way out there and bring up Colorado and Oregon State. That's it for now... tear it up people. I don't know how you talk about hot seats in the SEC without talking about Mississippi State. And Georgia made it to the tournament for the first time in a decade last season. And lost 6 starters. No way Stemke is on the hot seat. Patrick is in a tough situation at Tennessee... whether it is of his own making or not, it is impossible to know from the outside. Lots of young talent but it doesn't seem to be coming together on the court.

Colorado was one point away from being undefeated. Definitely not on the hot seat. Weren't they 9-11 in conference play? Or am I mistaken?

Program might have a win total in the single digits this year. How about time for her to "retire" ?

I remember when it was considered rude to have this conversation before Halloween. Then we kinda started in around Columbus Day, but September 14th? Really? We just fly right through National Pancake Day (Sept 26) to Sept 14?
I'm going to take a pass on the dark side of this one for a couple of weeks and say that to replace those coaches you are all firing, I think the list starts with Matt Ginipro of Ap State, Barry Goldberg of American, and Marci Jenkins of Radford, Chad Callihan of Wyoming, and from the Assistant ranks how about Brittney Dildine of Wisconsin and Ryan McGuire at FSU. Not saying they jump at anything (I've heard Barry is at American for life) but I would start with those names.

Interesting list. Goldberg sounds like a good choice, same with Callihan and McGuire. Jenkins at Radford had a good year last year (I think it was last year) and beat Cal this year. Curious why you start that list off with or even include Ginipro. Looks like his record at App is sub .500, zero conf championships, zero NCAA tourn appearances. Have they ever even made the conf tournament final with him? They are off to a great start this year, but for a school that was probably the top funded program, or at least near the top in the Socon, his results aren't great. What would make him so appealing to these schools in bigger conferences? I remember when it was considered rude to have this conversation before Halloween. Is it safe to put Rob Patrick on this list yet? Tennessee was just swept last night, at home, by Austin Peay. Ouch.

Not saying it's right. Just wondering how long Minnesota gives him. They're so busy jacking up season tix prices, etc., but if the team doesn't win, then will that fall apart? How long they give him to do what?? Last season, the Gophers performed on par with where they had performed throughout Hebert's tenure. Was he always on the hot seat? I'm super confused as to what you mean. Do you think Hugh was brought in to win a national championship in one season? Do you think the administration was like "OMG they lost to Louisville, get rid of that guy!" or something? Delusional. Hugh on hot seat is just as likely as rose on hot seat. That's how ridiculous I think that is lol

Dave Rubio with 23yrs at Arizona...time for a change! Why? Arizona seems to be fine. Their results are in line with other women's programs at Arizona. Are his athletes not good students? Are they breaking rules? His team is always in the top 20% of all D1 volleyball programs. Is the AD expecting more from this program? I'm confused.

It's funny, every year this thread pops up Dave's name gets thrown out there. But he's going on his 21st (not 23rd) season at U of A, he's been to the NCAA tournament 15 times - and he'll make it again this year. His players graduate and don't attract media attention for the wrong reasons. Now, Dave might not be the second coming of John Wooden, and he isn't the easiest guy to play for, but barring multiple single digit win seasons, Rubio is at U of A as long as he wants to be.
