Good to see Buechler playing well (or maybe it's just USC playing horrible). Buechler does a good job exploiting a weak block.

Good to see Buechler playing well (or maybe it's just USC playing horrible). more of the latter, really. Though I DO think she's a very talented, I'd take her right now over her freshmen counterpart Gillis on the USC side. just more range and feel for her shots, and better backcourt abilities.

Nwanebu's hitting approach always looked a little funny to me, but I always dismissed it because she could still put the ball down despite it True, but she had control on her shots...this year her control looks freshmen-like. Nobody's calling it a sophomore slump yet? When do we expect her to be fully recovered from her injury?

That set by USC was atrocious.

The rankings of both these teams should probably be reversed.

True, but she had control on her shots...this year her control looks freshmen-like. Nobody's calling it a sophomore slump yet? When do we expect her to be fully recovered from her injury? whatever it is, she's not playing like she was last year. I blame SOME of it on the setters, as they aren't consistent enough, BUT, you can see it in her approach and her swing, she's too predictable. Last year she could snap her wrist at the last minute at will, with power, which is what made her so hard to defend. Now she swings straight, following her chicken wing shoulder (which I though the NT experience would have fixed, but that is wishful thinking) which allows defenders to read her easily. Like I said, she is swinging like a lot of these freshmen.

Did anyone see Buechler's shoe come off in the middle of the set? probably the most entertaining this game.. it's getting boring. SC looking mediocre right now.

USC is in the woodshed ... Lowe with some monster swings took over that set and slammed the door. That pipe kill was sick.

Ebony's transition footwork = ? she's looked positively Un All American so far, injury be damned. Her footwork and control on her shots are just not high level, at all, on either pin. I feel like the control is directly related to the footwork. Everything's going long because she's way under the ball. It's a bad habit that seems to have gotten much worse in the offseason.

The rankings of both these teams should probably be reversed. Loyola Marymount should be top 10, they are the best team in LA thus far. SC looks defeated but Mick is going to rip them right now. Either they'll come out fired up or roll over. SC needs to feed Bricio..

Wow, Lowe will definitely have a successful professional volleyball career after UCLA if she so chooses. She's clearly out of their league.
