If Penn State wants to be a leader they need to keep winning; otherwise they fall back into the pack of teams that will be nipping at their heels. Nebraska wants this victory now and will be playing with nothing to lose. The Lions had better be prepared for a hard night on the court.

An interesting side note;
Ali Frantti has a brother Connor who plays for the Lincoln Stars hockey team. Even more interesting is that both teams play at the same time Friday with the hockey venue being just across the street from Devaney.

Based on early play I've seen, there are three teams that - if they are playing at the top of their game - Penn State would have a huge challenge beating.
They are Washington, Stanford and Illinois. Nebraska can show me something tonight if they go 5 sets, win or lose.
But when its tournament time, teams don't always play their best, or meet a team that is playing out of this world that night. A good example of that was last year's semi-final match between Washington and Penn State. On paper, it looked like it should have been the Huskies night. PSU played one of the best games in the history of the program.

FWIW PSU definitely did not resemble extraterrestrials against Minnesota. The Gophers gave PSU a lot of trouble up front. I haven't seen the Huskers play this year, but if they have a well organized block and some good serving, they should be able to make this interesting, possibly very interesting. Cook is going to to do some of the same things Minnesota did and may be able to do them better. I'm going to go out on a limb here and say one of the things that they will have to do better than Minny did is hit better than .000, -.079, and .033 in the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th sets (13, 15, 22).

Penn State makes quick work of this 'Husker squad. Nebraska may reach 20 points in one set.

This might be locker room material. Courtney doesn't even merit a spot on the flyer?
