If you follow Husker tweets; you wouldn't believe any ot this crap in this thread! GO HUSKERS That's the silliest, most naive thing I've read on Volleytalk in some time (unless you're being sarcastic). I may be naive; but I've been around the block a couple of times! Whether or not the trash talk is true or not; nobody offered any proof! One poster said he saw it; but everything you see is not always what is! One psoter mentioned Dan Conners! Funny I don't recall him stating anything; don't seem he has anything to shy away from! Maybe it is all true; but to me it is all allegations! GO HUSKERS

What you posted, however, suggested that you might believe there is some correlation between the husker tweets on Twitter and the truth in this matter That belief is what is silly and naive.

Cook is what he is. A great fundamental trainer and a good strategist. However he coaches for himself which is one reason many of the kids play for themselves. You could say he bears a great deal of responsibility for how the twins behave today. If you have been coaching VB in Nebraska for 20 years like I have, the twins horrible attitude is the worst kept secret in Nebraska. They committed to the huskers without ever have been to a volleyball match. Gwen Egbert, their high school coach became JC's right hand women...coaching fundamentals reasonably well but ignoring their horrible attitudes and constant berating of setters. The twins and their parents dictated to coaches who played and who the setter was. Twins were never benched for bad attitudes or the poor treatment of teammates. Got even worse at the club level with Wishmeyer. Spoiled them even worse. Any player who stood up the the twins was benched or ostracized. Likely all under Cook's supervision. Now he has to eat his own cooking...no pun intended. I would add they he is brutal on assistant coaches. He still get them to come in because they know it will help them get a head job. And of course you can't bad mouth him after you leave. But Erik Sullivan couldn't wait to get our of there and neither could Conners. For sure Werth asked for her release on more than one occasion. And don't forget Rachel Holloway. It took Cook to take the joy out playing for her. Most is this post is total BS.

Speaking of the twins..... let's discuss something other than their attitude. They are very athletic; however the thing that surprises me most about them is that they don't play very high above the net. For their height and athleticism, I would expect them to put up a bigger block and hit the ball at a higher point of contact. What I admire about the Nebraska "twins" is how hard they attack the ball. They may not jump the highest but they both hit very hard. I don't believe there are too many coaches that would have not wanted the "twins" to join their program. It is a widespread issue (perhaps problem) that when highly coveted vb players join a program, the coach of that chosen program tend to mollycoddle those players. I believe I see it over and over again in women's collegiate volleyball. Perhaps even Coach Cook is guilty of this, but he is just one of many. Perhaps the only major college coach who is not guilty of this is Russ Rose. How can you 'mollycoddle' a whole team full of high school All-Americans? Some highly coveted players at PSU have got to think that they are being mistreated. I can only think of Minnesota (and Illinois and New Mexico) coach, Mike Hebert's comment about keeping his players happy, something to the effect of, "hey, it is not my job to keep my players happy, it is their job to keep ME happy!" Right on, Coach Hebert!

Whoa. I haven't been on in a couple days and sh#t got real. I don't think anyone needs an insider investigation to see that the twins are an issue. They both have attitude. Attitude would be ok if its fierce against the opponents but against your teammates, that's a problem. I don't think Cook coddles, like I see on other teams do for certain players but its not exactly an anomaly. I think he turns a blind eye for sure, probably hoping they will work it out. As a student and a former player I can tell you there is no way any intelligent player would tweet anything negative while they are still on the team or have any hopes of continuing. You cant rely on social media to uncover any truths.

My guess is somewhere in between. I've always sort of thought that current problems are more about fixated demographics (if that term makes sense). That is, many of their current starters are from Nebraska or nearby states. With the population size of Nebraska you could get burned with that strategy for periods of several years. Yeah, you might be able to lock in the best players in your home state, but that isn't always going to cut it when competing against the National rosters of PSU, Stanford, USC, and UW.

The twins attitude has always been evident. More so kadie. Especially in the Texas match. She was kicking balls angrily, and outright giving bad looks to her teammates. They seem like they have this attitude that they're better than everyone else. They wouldn't last a second on the Olympic team.

I just read thru some of this thread. If Dorothy was still posting this thread would be a 100 pages long. I watched some of the match on TV. I thought Ostrander was better than the twins. The twins are good. They are not once in a generation type of players one might have assumed from reading three years of hype by a few Husker VTers.
I think the hype by a few people was unfair to the twins because it can lead to disappointment. I hope Cook turns things around because the Husker fan base is good for the sport.

The Toxic Twins aren't good enough to justify the tolerance and appeasement of their poor behavior. There's clearly much more going on beneath the surface, and it would probably be in Cook's and Nebraska's best interest if this were nipped in the bud asap.

I think NE will muddle thru this year. Cook just does not seem to have it in him to sit one or both for any lengthy period of time. I see them finishing somewhere close to 500 in the B1G.

Or, Nebraska could end up winning at Minnesota and Wisconsin and things would be looking a lot better. I hope that doesn't happen, for obvious reasons, but it could.
