Wow! Quite a feat by Illinois to win any match against Nebraska, home or away. I have to admit, this does not seem like the usual powerhouse Nebraska squad we are used to seeing, but I wasn't convinced it was over until Illinois hit 25 points in Set 4. Criswell was certainly the star, but I have to give special mention to Brandi Donnelly whose digging and passing was so strong, especially down the stretch. Back home next week against Indiana and Purdue? Let's go get 'em!! Think I saw a screen during a timeout indicating Nebraska is a very young club - I believe 1 senior, 2 juniors, and think it said 6 sophs and 6 frosh. They should be even tougher next year. Guess could have gone on Nebraska's site and looked at roster, but didn't, so accuracy of that info might be questioned. Think it's close though.

Nebraska was so lucky to get Robinson last year or this same scenario would have taken place a year earlier. She made the Huskers tick last year both on offense and defense. There is no where but up to go for this young team though so Husker fans hang in there!!! They would have been even younger last season, and much worse.

Nebraska does have 4 juniors, including both of today's starting middles and Ostrander, but Pollmiller is the only senior, and they are definitely young overall with 11 underclassmen. Actually, they joined Big 10 in 2011, and the last Illini win against them was in tourney in 1992. Now, they had only played each other 8 times since '92, but Illini was 0-8 until today. Back to back top 15 win, and AWAY from Huff (PSU & Nebr). Quite a big win for them today. Prior to today, Illinois was just 5-19-1 overall against Nebraska. They were 1-9 in Lincoln, having lost 7 straight (last win in 1989).
I think the Illini became just the third team to win at PSU and Nebraska in the same year. (OSU in 1991, Purdue in 1982.)
(Also, just because a lot of my family lives there, I'll point out that the correct spellings are Chatham and Jayson.)

Great job by the Illini, Criswell was fun to watch as well as their libero. Nebraska has serious leadership issues, no one looked like they had any energy out there today. The Huskers' weakness in the middle is maddening..only 6 kills apiece from Hall and Haggerty. Hall had a nice match, but she needs to demand the ball. Pollmiller needs to watch tape from 2012 and take note of how Lauren set Haggerty, the current pace on the slide is so slow..

First time getting to watch Illinois today. They definitely looked like a top 10 team and surprised they are only at 15. Not sure who their losses are against this season but I can see this team making a deep tourney run. Really enjoyed watching the play of both OH's as well. The team seemed to play with such high energy and it was fun to watch.

The team seemed to play with such high energy and it was fun to watch. those loses would be to UCLA (pretty much didn't show up to play), Stanford (much more competitive, but Stanford is the better team overall), Virginia Tech (WTF?), and Wisconsin (Eh...) Agree on the potential to make a deep run, especially if they land in FSU's regional...but then again ANY ranked team placed in that regional would be picked to potentially make a "deep" tournament run. 2014 was long projected to be a great Illinois year because a lot of the Big 10 teams would be graduating starters and Illinois would be trucking along with tons of upperclassmen. Hopefully they make the most of it, my guess is that this opportunity won't come around for a few more years, even with Poulter and Prince coming in. The Big 10 is reloading, and fast.

I know my team lost to Chatham in little league baseball by some lopsided scores. I remember 27-6 once, but we got to go out for ice cream, so it was all good.

Very knowledgeable, very professional. Much better many the one who normally does the big ten,she was very unbias in my opinion.

As an Illinois fan, I thought she did great and was unbiased. Referenced her past, both growing up on Illinois club and high school scene and playing at Nebraska, without it being too much about herself.

As an Illinois fan, I thought she did great and was unbiased. Referenced her past, both growing up on Illinois club and high school scene and playing at Nebraska, without it being too much about herself. Making it about herself was her biggest problem by far. She brought something personal into every single comment, throughout the entirety of the match. And when you continually begin each comment with "Again" and "like I said", then you just have to realize that you're talking too much or needlessly.

I'll take her over that ex Ohio setter any day of the week. I don't think she made it about herself at all.
