An average option for Nora then is Bohl. She has experience, but then do you gain more on the OH with that switch? Worth a try? I go back to my other complaint, recruiting. Who has Hugh brought in? You can't count the ones that came here after the fact (Goehner, Wilhite). Who have we lost because of the recruiting choices? Food for thought... Bohl can pass. She can't defend. Not at the level of Goehner or Wilhite certainly. Sarah's match went south tonight and then it affected her passing. But did you see her on defense? She can cover so much ground in reach alone. I could be wrong. I know lots of you think I'm wrong. And some of you just think Hugh can't coach. But this team's problem is that they have a REALLY HARD time terminating. They have to work so hard for points and, I think, it gets to their confidence. They need to dig deep and find out if winning is in them. They need to keep swinging, move on to the next point. And they have to play defense like they did for 2.5 games tonight. This isn't just Sarah. Nora needs to keep swinging, too. I don't think she's healthy. I know Santana isn't. The other thing I know is that they are TRYING. The effort is there. I was right on the end line tonight. You could tell the effort was there. And, unfortunately, you could also feel the confidence leaking away.

I know what you said and meant and I stand by my response. She got stuffed. Then she started tipping. Then she got stuffed some more. Nebraska also dug her. This is a problem. Again, she is/was capable of hitting over the Nebraska block, so the point is, set to the hitter's preference, not the system. That's a big block. And she doesn't hit with a lot of power. Would you admit that maybe that's why they want to speed things up (even if you think it's the wrong tactic)?

What difference does speeding it up make if that's the case?

I do not believe she can hit over the Nebraska block. That was why I said it's a big block. Setting her inside only makes Nebraska's block more effective, when Pohlmiller is matched up with her.

She hit over the block at least 5 times in the first two sets, from about three feet off both the net and antenna and towards the sideline.

I was there. No she didn't. She didn't hit OVER the block ONCE in the entire match.
Five times in the first game?

I was there. No she didn't. Watch a replay, if you can figure it out, and you'll see.

I was there. I couldn't have had a better view. She didn't. Not once.
I see you're starting in with the insults.

Another problem. 2,500 attendance v. Nebraska. Ouch.

Really? What do you like about her? I'm not particularly fond of either one, but Amber has a better attitude, and therefore, more potential. Not to totally interrupt this Minnesota mope-fest, but Kadie did have 17 kills and hit .283 tonight. Not exactly a terrible match.

I'd direct you to the first half of this thread. The Nebraska "mope-fest" was raging.

I'm simply saying that given the limited difference in physical potential as twins, I would take Amber and try to develop her potential.

The last 5 pages of this thread would give me the impression the direction of the match changed somewhere. I won't lose sleep over whichever direction it continues to go, but I felt the need to dispute that Amber has more potential than Kadie. Maybe as a business major. Certainly not as an outside hitter.

They are identical twins, aren't they? Their physical potential is more or less equal. Attitude or environment is the main determinant of their potential.
