It absolutely is. These performances have manifested due to a lack of consistency at the setter spot which has infected the attitude of the team. The hitters flat out don't trust Mary's placement or tempo will be there and that means they can't get into a flow. When you don't feel in rhythm all parts of your game breaks down. Why is everyone so afraid to say it? Cook made a huge mistake and sacrificed this whole season just to save Hunter's eligibility. Polmiller's setting may not be the best, but it isn't the only, or even main reason, for Nebraska's poor offensive showing. If you want to argue that "bad" setting has made the hitters timid, then that's as much an attacker problem as it is a setter problem, because there are plenty of example where the set doesn't justify the poor attack. AGREE!

OK, .300 was just wishful thinking on my part. Something much higher than 0 would help a lot.

Does Amber ever hit above .200 in a match. Shes hitting .000 with 7 kills on 30 attempts. Note the frown on her face.

Stress the defense. If you're hitting under .200, even under .100, but you're contributing to points for your team, you're getting the job done. Santana does this when healthy. Wilhite has the potential to do it. But it may take her another year.
My concern is that they still won't have another OH next year AND they'll lose what depth they have at opposite. They could use some more talent for 2015.

It's amazing that amber rolfzn hit 0.00 and she still plays. Yes, and at times it gets embarrassing when your setter has more kills than your RS!!!!!

Another problem. 2,500 attendance v. Nebraska. Ouch. Did the camera somehow totally miss the student section, all I saw were a lot of old farts everywhere? Wait a second. Ruffda says he was sitting right on the end line. Alpacone saw only geezers in the stands. Can anyone tell me whether the arena crews still bar anyone not a student from sitting behind the end line? What's the story? Is there a story?

Who are you putting on the floor if you put Amber on the sideline? You might have someone who can replace her attacking, but not her blocking, serve receive, or floor defense. I'm going to anticipate one possible response to my question. "Play one player in the front row and then DS for them in the back row." Unfortunately, even with the liberal substitution rules, I don't think you would have enough subs to DS for one of the outsides, plus the opposite, plus using a serving sub for the second middle.

I was a guest in the premium seats. The bleachers were sparsely occupied. I don't know if they are still patrolling, but it looks terrible for TV to have those seats empty. And I'd qualify as an old fart, I'm afraid.

25-19 NE in the 4th. We're goin' 5!!!!! Somebody built a fire under this team. Maybe it was the bench rider who came in for a .500 hitting percentage.

Doesn't Sydnay Townsand sub for Amber? Sometimes, but not always. And lately it's been pretty infrequent. If that sub happened every time Amber's serve came around, I'm guessing they would run out of subs prior to the end of every set.
