Well, this is disappointing. Hoping BYU would host first round. BYU has what, four losses? To Washington, CSU, San Diego, and now Santa Clara. They split against Santa Clara and could still split against San Diego. Bluepenquin figured that a four-loss BYU team would still be #14 in RPI. I don't think this loss means they won't be seeded, unless they get many (possibly any!) more losses.

My problem with BYU hosting is that their best win is over LMU, is 37 RPI as of now, add in beating SCU earlier this season and they only have two top 50 wins. 2-4 Top 50 might not cut it. I think every top 20 RPI team has a top-25 victory. Going to make it hard to squeeze BYU into that mix if their RPI is outside the range, at 14 it would be interesting

Santa Clara is finally on the rise. It would be nice if they get in the tourney in the next couple of years.

Well, this is disappointing. Hoping BYU would host first round. It would be great for BYU to host this year esp with Southern Cal struggling so much this season.

Interesting that byu is having these hiccups in their season. They will be good when it counts

I think last year was one of only two years in the last 15 or so that Santa Clara DIDN'T make the tournament. They were in the Final Four in 2005. But this very young team shows a lot of promise for bringing the program back to greater things. (They obviously have surprised a few people this year, since they were picked to finish 9th out of 10 in the WCC preseason poll.)

Well, this is disappointing. Hoping BYU would host first round. 3 of byu's 4 losses have come on the road. so i'm sure they'd want/prefer to host if they wanna get to a regional. still in the driver's seat as far as the WCC title is concerned though. even with this loss, byu is projected to finish with an rpi of about 14. but they gotta win out ... no more losses in conference.
