Dave Shoji finally made a strategic move that turned this match around, he switched Mendoza and Kahakai, making Kahakai the libero. Kahakai settled down the passing, which turned the match around. Mendoza settled down playing a position she is very comfortable playing, DS1. Hoping Dave Shoji makes this switch permanent for the rest of the year.

Kahakai, playing the libero position, basically shutdown Irvine's tip shots. Kahakai is not any quicker then Mendoza, but she is better in reading when tip shots will occur.

Also, the match was Hawaii's when they stopped f romping around on the court and actually loved like they were ready to clock in and work a productive shift.
