I'm a believer. At least into the elite eight. Interesting to see how Stanford does against a very good puzzle of players with great specific skills such as Florida. Congratulations to Mary Wise and her players. They were very tough, and proved they could handle tne pressure that the moment provides, and that the Illini provided. Great win for the Gators...very deserving team!

It will be interesting to watch Burgess and Dagostino play against each other. They were club and high school teammates for a lot of successful seasons: won gold in 18 Open and several state championships.

Florida is very good if they get in system. Their biggest issue will be if they try to win this thing in a slugfest. They are not good out of system mainly because Gabby isn't to great when the ball isn't perfect, Snyder is too young to play a big match of just bombing balls, and Ziva isn't high enough to win a slugfest. Same thing that has been said all year, if they pass well enough (2.2) then they have a shot, and if not they will get drilled. I think Stanford will just be better at the game of volleyball than them and that is what will decide this. Don't be surprised when it's a revolving door on the pin today! Mary is going to be all sorts of nervous and this is what gets her.

I think this is the best UF squad since 2003, slightly ahead of the most recent elite 8 team when Murphy was a senior. Thus, I think they are a legit top-8 team that may sneak into another FF. I think it would take favorable matchups to get there (ie - I'd prefer a Stanford elite 8 matchup vs Texas or PSU). We don't do well when the opposition is more physical than us and there are just a few teams more physical this year. Stanford vs Florida will be a good match. Definitely the elite 8 match I am hoping for. Wish granted. ?
