I got to campus around 1:30 (wasn't entirely sure of the ticket situation, plus I was going to eat a late lunch before the match, even though the place I was planning on eating at apparently closed down).
Parked in a lot behind the hockey arena, left atound 7 p.m. total parking charge: $4 not too bad. was expecting to pay more

Just a thought: Should one of us mention to the folks who pick the pre-match music -- and the moms who select the music for their nine-year-old dance line teams -- that "I Can't Feel My Face" is about snorting cocaine? And most Rock and Roll is about sex . . .

So, aside from the charter service, what would be the best way to get tickets for the Iowa regional? We want to sit with other Gopher fans for maximum impact.

Hello MN fans.... I just had to create a new log in, because I haven't posted on here in many many years... Anyhow..... Can someone send me information as well regarding tickets for next weekend? I have been to all Regional Semi Finals, Regional Finals, and Final Four games in the past 12 years.. Very disappointed how the U of M is handling things this year... I have done Creative Bus Tours in the past, but don't need to use them for next weekend. I bought a ticket last weekend, a buy one get on free deal, for Friday and Saturday, but I don't want to sit in the corners. An someone let me know how to get a decent ticket with the Minnesota fans that are going down? Thank you so much...

And most Rock and Roll is about sex . . . And let's tell all parents to stop letting kids watch cartoons - so many cartoons contain sexual references that go right over kids heads. Side note, I never realized until I got older how bad Destiny Child's "Lose my Breath" was.. Lol

Random thoughts:
Minnesota could make it to the Final Four without playing a seeded team. (For this to happen, the Gophers would have to beat Illinois, Hawaii beats Penn State, and Minnesota beats Hawaii, with Louisville (15) and Penn State (7) biting the dust early.) I'm sure there are plenty of people that would feel that Hawaii would be a tougher matchup, though.
It would be possible for the Gophers to win the National Championship and not play any more teams from outside the B1G. (Minnesota beats Illinois, Penn State beats Hawaii, Minnesota beats Penn State, Wisconsin beats Florida and Texas, Minnesota beats Wisconsin, Nebraska beats BYU, Washington and USC, Minnesota beats Nebraska for the title.) That would be quite a run for Nebraska to make it to the final, regardless of whether the Huskers would play Minnesota or someone else there, knocking off the PAC12's top teams back to back.
If this was last year, when Minnesota hosted regionals, or next year, when the top four seeds get to host regionals, we wouldn't have to make the trek to Des Moines.
Illinois came really close to sweeping the Gophers early this year (26-24, 22-25, 22-25, 15-10, 15-6 I think). Flip flop a couple points in the first set, and I wonder how different each team's season might have been. I'm thinking Illinois would really like to avenge that loss.
Minnesota played their best match of the season against Penn State in Minneapolis. Assuming both teams advance to the regional final, will the Gophers be able to match that performance?
Should Minnesota and Hawaii win, the regional final will be the first match these teams have played outside of Hawaii. Hawaii has won all of the previous matches, but I'm guessing the wins Hawaii had in 1986, 1991, 1995, 1999, 2003 and 2008 won't have much bearing on this one. (Side note: Had Minnesota beaten Texas and Hawaii beaten Penn State in the national semifinals in 2009, Hawaii and Minnesota would have played for the title that year in Tampa. Or if they still played a third place match, they would have played for third.)

In no way am I wishing this season away but I was just thinking how next year the team is going to be so deap they legitimately could have a top 25 team on the bench. Assuming the starters stay close to the same and Hart takes over Santana's spot. The 2nd team of Pittman, Beal, Morgan, Mclean, Goehner (I know she actually starts now, very well not as a OH), Handley and Litzau and Beckley as your libero and right back.
Ok maybe top 25 is pushing it without a dominant OH, but that is still a good 2nd team.

I still wouldn't put it past Pittman to find a way to force herself into the lineup, despite the insane positional obstacles in front of her. Pittman comes in a 6'4, and physically ready for top-level college volleyball, and I legitimately think she could start on this year's team.

Im not sure whether Pittman or Lohman will start next year. Lohman is a better blocker and better adjusted to the college game, but Pittman is also really impressive and physical. I think Molly will start, but wouldnt be surprised to see Regan get into the lineup

We should start a Minnesota 2016 thread! It has been awhile since there has been this much excitement about the program, not just for the current state but the future state, as well.

Now that the 2015 season has wrapped up at the Pav, what has impressed me this year is the consistency of large crowds. After opening to 1974 fans vs. NW, the smallest crowd the rest of the year was 4076, a Wednesday night match vs. Indiana.
Out of 17 matches, there were 6 in excess of 5100 and another 5 over 4000. Small compared to Nebraska but pretty impressive when your facility only holds around 5600.
This season was loaded with home matches at the back end of the schedule. In the past, this hasn't been good to MN as they are usually out of the conference title chase by that time. However, this year's strong start got people interested and they kept coming. And, the crowds came before the media attention, which has been much better as well (a local "sports" guy calling Daly Santana Maddie Beal, notwithstanding. He's an idiot).
Hopefully, the momentum continues into next yeat because a full Pav is a lot of fun!

I can also see them using whoever does not start as a blocker like they have done with Beal. I think it will still be a 5-1 with SSS, but will use Schau setting a little more. Also imagine how much more excited we will all be about next season if we can finish this one on top!
