How is it determined which season ticket holders get player delivery treatment? Is it which fans donate the most? Which fans have been the longest season ticket holders? Is it a lottery for all season ticket holders and each year is just luck? I would think Rainbow, badgerbreath, and gobucky would be automatic based on their historical knowledge and support. I think it's somewhat random. And here's the thing: The coaches know who the Rainbows are. They know that we hung with the team through their time in the wilderness. They can be reasonably assured of our ongoing support for the program. They probably get MORE bang for their proverbial buck by visiting season ticket holders who aren't so closely invested in the program. Those people will possibly be pulled in by the personalized touch, whereas Rainbowspouse and I are already invested.

No idea, but I didn't see any front porches that looked like shacks (so I am wondering if their point status from other donations is a factor). Plus, a well known supporter of Badger Athletics and former golf pro, Andy North, got two visits to make sure someone was home (he paid for the floor for the basketball program). I do agree that it is somewhat random, but they probably aren't going to drive to Oregon, WI so there are probably some geographic limitations (psst, I am only 10 minutes away...). They did go to Verona, which can be further if you're stuck in traffic (and if you go to Italy by mistake...). I also agree, they don't NEED to show up at my door (I am doing the countdown, right, and have been to several road games) but it would be exciting. They don't know who I am because I am not as outgoing as the Rainbows! Unless they are hacking volleytalk credentials, they don't know who we are here anyway. There was a second-year ticket holder who got a visit. I've only been 8 years, which probably falls in the middle. I think you are going to see more bb and fb season ticket holders getting vb because it's now cool, showing up to the matches, and talking through the whole thing and saying stuff like - wait, they don't play to 15 anymore? (Already starting happening last year). I'm glad to have more season ticket support, but I wish they would make an attempt to learn the important rules before showing up, or at least not babble on about their lack of knowledge about the rules when they show up. (I don't mind being asked, btw, it's when they ask each of their 3 companions, none of whom know, which is annoying). And stop getting up in the middle of rallies! (VBPrisoner, you touched a nerve!). Most conversations I overhear are people talking about their gym class All American status in volleyball in high school. "When I played..." I did switch to reserved seating this year. Hope it's better. It was certainly better in the post-season that GA. Why I don't go to Brewers bb anymore - very little game watching, too much rustling around and getting in the way. Go ahead, call me a purist.

My thought process (right or wrong) if I was a college coach would be to build the support, but make sure the loyal fans get some preferential treatment like the delivery and it may also be on a 5 year rotation based on the numbers.
Also, I am sure someone from the program or connected to program gets on VT and they know the loyal followers and could easily find out who they were even if it was through PM to the individual to make sure they are taken care of (yes this is a anonymous board, but 95% of the badger fans on VT are so positive and polite that nothing you all post requires hiding from the program or in general).
I guess next time I talk with Sheff at a Qualifier I will let him know rainbow, gobucky, and badgerbreath need a visit....LOL

Well, they will have to budget a bit more time if they are to deliver tickets to me here in NY. Not that I wouldn't have 'em!

Probably, it's all a little blurry though. I except that sofa in the new locker room, it fully captures the college experience. There's gotta be like 4 Ian's pizza boxes under it. I wish more pictures of practice would be posted...also, does anyone else think Tionna is kinda flying under the radar? I like it, doesn't seem like much pressure is on the freshman. more so on Gillis and Kriscova.

Season tickets are pretty this year. Big fan. (They came in the mail, not delivered by players, but still, pretty.)

The only ones we don't see here are Blake and Williams. m.facebook.com/WisconsinVolleyball/albums/988439997862488/I'm not sure how much Tionna is under the radar. Sheff mentioned she is working hard and has the goal of being on the court from day 1. She's a top 10 recruit. He tries not to put pressure on the freshmen, but the pressure is probably already there. We'll learn more about how everyone is doing at he meet & greet on Monday. Sheff usually comments on each player.

I think the idea with Tionna being "under the radar" is that in all these discussions of FOY you hear about Foecke and Poulter -- and maybe Swenson, Skjodt - but nobody mentions Williams or Duello, who are two top ten recruits. I'm fine with it for now, especially as Foecke looks like the real deal. Would rather just see them on the court than hear ramblings about how one or the other will or won't do. It'll only bug me if they start playing really well and no one notices. Nebraska match will be really interesting this year.
Have to say I'm really excited to see all these new faces alongside the more familiar ones. These pictures only make the changes more tangible. A real challenge for Sheff to get this new mix up to the speed of the last two years.
Also, the more I see Kriskova in practice, the less worried I am about her. She has quite some game face and she looks to be in incredible shape.

Our daughter is going to Badger 101 tonight, not sure who is more excited, her or me. Need to print a roster with pictures to remember who is who this year! She of course will be wearing her Taylor Morey #6 shirt. Wish my other daughter still qualified but she hit the dreaded age 13 in April.

I saw the same thing with the timelines, although there's a video board in there between the locker rooms and the upper deck. I pretty much agree with that order of priorities: locker room space, video board, upper deck, and HVAC in terms of product on the court and cost. Given that each project likely takes a year, that puts the upper deck 2-4 years off, when hopefully if they continue to draw sellouts on a regular basis the upper deck will be a necessity rather than a luxury.
