I would imagine she's still in Madison. The semester's not over. Classes end today, and finals start Thursday.
Kids still do some writing... like in class... I'm sure she'll get an accommodation for her exams.

Well, I think with a full spring season that we may get to see Duello. Sheff's issue was not that she did not hit hard, but that she was not able to play at the required speed. Once the season started it was hard to put her in. Ooooh, say 'spring season' again. I love the sound of that. Questions: None of the 2016 recruits are graduating in January, right? Also, I'm ignorant to this process, but Carlini would have been in the summer 2015 tourneys with the USA if she was being groomed for Rio, yes? Yes, I'm aware of the current setter pool and they all have professional AND international careers, but I'm just curious.

She was invited to play in the grand prix, I believe, but was recovering from a severe high ankle sprain.

I know Karch mentioned the sprain is what kept her out of the USA gym, but I don't know the history of USA coaches bringing up younger players simply for experience. I think the current setters for team USA are great, though. I think Glass has been injured?

With her focus on the goal of setting team USA in the future, it would certainly make sense to add her to the 2016 team for the experience.

It would make sense, but 1) I think the USA still has to technically qualify 2) Due to roster limitations, I just don't see how bringing an inexperienced backup (but very, very, very talented) would make sense when going against the Brazils, Chinas, and Italies of the world. Maybe she gets time in team workouts, but USA still has Glass, Kreklow, Thompson, Lloyd, etc.

None of our 2016s are graduating early, and that makes sense. Molly and M.E. in particular have unfinished business in club. SPVB 18 Elite is going for its 4th straight AAU 18 Open title. Milwaukee Sting 18 Gold includes most of the members of last year's 17 Gold (minus setter Victoria Brisack, who's enrolling early at Indiana), and they fell short of their goal of an AAU championship, so they're going to come out swinging as well.
LC's has stated that she wants to focus on making the most of her time at Wisconsin. It's doubtful that she goes to Rio. Her injury last year that kept her off the Pan Am Games roster probably sealed that deal. But she's quoted in the State Journal as saying that she wants to win a championship at every level: HS, club, college, and Olympic. She can't do that if she goes to Rio; she'll miss to much time with Wisconsin. While she personally would benefit from training in Anaheim this summer, it seems equally likely that she stays in Madison to take classes, train with her teammates, and work camps, while Team USA focuses on training with their Olympic roster. I don't know what LC's plans are for spring semester of her senior year, but it's feasible that with summer classes, she bangs out enough credits to graduate in December 2016 and goes straight to the pros.

A-Mac will rest and recover this spring. Dodge and Dodd are solid DSs. Dixon is also possibly going to train as a DS. So that's twice as many DS options as we had this year.

Yes. The badgers are now past the dreaded DS bottleneck that left us so vulnerable if Amac or Morey were injured, which it turns out actually happened. I'm not that worried about having someone, anyone, to cover that position effectively. I am worried about the effects of losing such a big personality. The young back row will have to establish their own personality now. Who will lead the group?

I think Morey was typically a quiet leader and she herself has said that being vocal and a leader didn't come naturally. I do not think AMac is a wallflower. She is a bulldog, similar to Taylor. However, defensive leadership doesn't necessarily have to come from teh libero. Whomever of the OHs that play, one will be six rotations and will be a junior. I think we'll be okay with regard to passing, but also with regard to defensive leadership.

Ok, I am cool with that! I know there was some quote from Morey about the differences with her personality and A-mac's, but I can't find it right now.

Great season overall even though they didn't go as far as they wanted. They have a solid return for next year and add a really talented OH. Carlini was the best I've ever seen her - she should have a big senior year .
