Never said it wouldn't be talented. But, you have to expect some sort of drop off when you lose three 4-year starters. You can't just replace the Rolfzens twins OR Wong-Orantes for that matter. All three are some of the all-time greats. Nebraska always has a talented roster. But losing that graduating class will be rough you can't deny that. JWO will be very tough to replace. She has so many intangible qualities that she brings on the court. Some of the digs JWO gets are ridiculous. No idea how she does it sometimes

What is "yikes" about 2017? Foecke, Holman, Hunter, Maloney, Stivrins, Albrecht, and bringing in two top-10 recruits in McClellan and Sweet is anything but "yikes." They still have 1 or 2 scholies for that incoming '17 class too. Just because they lose the twins and JWO doesn't mean that roster won't still be extremely talented. You can say that about early in the year but elite talent matures quickly in women's volleyball, e.g. Hodson, SSS, Foecke, et al. JWO is awesome but given how Maloney is already playing as a freshman,I wouldn't be surprised if she's an All-American in her first season at libero. It'll be about how quickly Sweet gets up to speed at RS, but other than that, the '17 team will still compete for the final four and title barring injury. Any team that returns 3 likely All-Americans at that point in Holman, Foecke, and Hunter with all the ancillary talent will be salty.

Cook is better coach than credited. His arrogance sometimes hurts his perception.

Can we just focus on this team for the next week before we start worrying about next season, let alone 2 years?!

I know I legitimately think next year's team might be better. Amber Rolfzen: BACK Kadie Rolfzen: BACK Kelly Hunter: BACK Justine Wong-Orantes: BACK Kenzie Maloney: BACK Mikaela Foecke: BACK Really only lose Cecilia Hall from the starting lineup but you could easily say Briana Holman is an "upgrade" considering she was a 1st team All American a year ago. Also bringing in Top 10 recruit MB Lauren Stivrins. Team will be stacked once again. Fien is a bigger loss than Hall and plays a bigger role though. Holman will be an upgrade from Hall, the bigger question is who plays L2 or L1 next year...does Rolf move back here? Neb should be really fun to watch next year and really good.

Just a guess, but Cook will try to pair Boender and/or Albrecht with Foecke on the left and make adjustments if it's not working early in the season. That makes the most sense because the twins seem to be settled in at their "new" positions and the chemistry is great. No reason to mess with it. Keep in mind, Nebraska will have a scholarship available if they need it. Maybe another high profile transfer for VTers to villainize Cook over?

I'm very excited for the B10 next season, there will be a lot of good vball.

Loaded Big Ten teams is good for every team in the league who makes the tourney.
