Is it acceptable for a coach to take a scholarship from a player if he discovers a more talented player wants to transfer into his team? Is it more acceptable for that coach to repeated tell a player she will not get any PT once the transfer arrives in hopes that the less talented player transfers out? I only ask these questions because I don't know what I'm talking about but seek to understand how coaches think. It amazes me the depths Dorothy (previously know as Keystone Kid) will stoop to rationalize everything his pal tells him to do. Of course I never could figure out why a guy would choose to use a woman's name as his identity on this chat board either. Now I have a hunch Dorothy will respond to this thread with YDKWYATA. You know any coach with integrity would not do those things you are asking. You are really implying this is taking place with your sarcastic approach and there is no need to keep throwing stones if all you are trying to do is insult Dorothy.........it just makes you seem petty!

Next year, Nebraska will have 19 eligible players (since Bri has to sit out), the same amount PSU will have on its roster. At PSU, there are three pin positions available between five hitters that all could likely start at most programs: Nia Reed, Simone Lee, Ali Frantti, Megan Courtney, and Aiyana Whitney. If Whitney moves back to the middle, PSU would then have five middles fighting for two starting positions. If, however, Whitney stays on the pins, that will require one defensive specialist to play her back-row rotations. Given there will be 8 defensive specialists fighting for one libero position and one DS position, six of those players will have great courtside views of the action next season. I’m not sure why you think an abundance of players is unique to Nebraska. For whatever reason, you have an agenda against our program, since you’ve grossly accused our boosters of giving money to the players and posed a question in our thread about coaches reneging on scholarships. Perhaps you should go back to the drawing board and reexamine your own team’s probable transfers. Either players like Reed, Lee and the plethora of defensive specialists will follow in the footsteps of Prieto, Dorton and Longo and transfer to programs where they will have an impact, or their fates will be similar to Kabbes and Martin as over-glorified serving specialists or sideline cheerleaders. Like Dot said, your attempt to be suave with these types of convoluted questions failed big time, because people haven’t forgotten about your public apology to Husker nation last week. (I mean, it’s not our fault that you revealed yourself as a train wreck and had to increase your meds, per your psychologist, like you bemoaned.) It’s odd that you try to insult him and myopically claim that his screenname has to be indicative of his gender (c’mon, this is 2015, get over your sexist biases)—all after lamenting about not having the type of insight at PSU that Dorothy graciously offers Nebraska fans. Nothing is more of a turn off than passive-aggressive behavior, especially in an online forum where anonymity is on your side. Next time, just be direct when you have schemata instead of taking these petty and worthless jabs for which you’ve apologized. Otherwise, it makes you look like a bipolar bish when you ask for forgiveness one week and the next week you’re back in Tet Offensive mode.

My posts have been that way ever since I got hit by a train twice on the same day. That's when everyone started calling me lucky. My therapist says I'm ok now as long as I take my medication. It looks my treads went off the rails quite a ways back. Sorry about my little rant folks. I have been told by Dorothy Mantooth that I know nothing about volleyball so I decided to prove it. You firmly put me in my place without too much hesitation and I now stand corrected. In truth I am a little envious of the great support (in a good way) that you provide for your team. I do enjoy the fun we have chatting about vb and am still learning the sport that has become my obsession. I just find it odd that a PSU fanboy would come into a Nebraska thread to incite transfer rumors because of the abundance of talent that we have on the roster, when the situation at PSU isn’t different. It’s even stranger that he accused our athletic department and boosters of being corrupt without any evidence to support his egregious claim, when his own athletic program has been forever tainted for sexually abusing minors for over a decade. What’s most baffling, however, is that he insulted our coach, fans and program at large and then apologized, but reverted back to his old habits. It kind of reminds me of that crazed mayor in Toronto. You know, the one that got caught doing crack, apologized, went back to smoking crack, apologized, and eventually went to rehab and apologized again.

This could be a win-win for all involved!

after apologizing for accusing Nebraska boosters of giving money to a player. I wish you would not put words in my mouth. I NEVER said the Nebraska Boosters were giving money to any player. However you seem to have a mindset about it. Since you are a control freak that always has the last word I can expect you to continue this thread

More inconsistencies. Tsk-tsk. Are we talking about the great job the Nebraska Boosters do in assisting athletes in transferring into school? if you want to believe the Boosters, in or out of the Match Club, are all pure as falling snow, then you are full of crap. No one wants to admit everything sounds fishy about the finances either. I NEVER said the Nebraska Boosters were giving money to any player.

My first thought was that she might be a bit short to be an OH, but after watching her play, that girl has really got some moves. She looks like she could play the entire back court by her self!! AND, there are some impressive 5' 10''OH's in the Big 10. What she may lack in height she makes up with her jump. Its nice to see all this talent heading to Husker land. Who are these impressive 5'10" OH's? I can't recall their names. TRY HARDER!!

The 2016 class is shaping up to become another highly touted 2013 class. Another top OH, setter, middle blocker(s), and DS. Here’s the roster for 2016: Molly Haggerty | OH | 6-1 | FR | Alex Ratzlaff | DS | 5-10 | FR | Lauren Stivrins | MB | 6-4 | FR | Sarah Allick | MB | 6-1 | FR | Hunter Atherton | S | 6-0 | FR | Tiani Reeves | OH | 6-1 | rFR | Brooke Smith | S | 5-11 | rFR | Mikaela Foecke | MB | 6-3 | SO | Kenzie Maloney | DS | 5-8 | SO | Maddie Haggerty | OH | 6-2 | rSO | Olivia Boender | OH | 6-2 | rSO | Kelly Hunter | S | 5-11 | rJR | Briana Holman | MB | 6-1 | JR | Kira Larson | MB | 6-2 | JR | Annika Albrecht | OH | 6-0 | JR | Sydney Townsend | DS | 5-8 | JR | Kadie Rolfzen | OH | 6-3 | SR | Amber Rolfzen | OH | 6-3 | SR | Melanie Keil | MB | 6-0 | SR | Justine Wong-Orantes | DS | 5-6 | SR | Alexa Ethridge | DS | 5-7 | SR |

Possible lineup:
Setter: Kelly Libero: Justine OH: Kadie & Molly RS: Amber MB: Briana & Mikaela
2016 should be a solid year for Nebraska: excellent mix of top-ranked, tenured players plus highly-touted Mikaela and Molly!

UNLnotNU, you need to write this roster down or bookmark this post because it will be interesting to see how accurate this is to the actual roster in 2016. The reason I say this is because Nebraska is looking like PSU in stockpiling talent, but whereas PSU might have 21-22 players on the roster 8-9 are DS fillers and on your listed roster for 2016 you have 7 OH, 6 MB, 3 S, and 5 DS. Having that much talent at OH and MB even if they are split among the three front row positions will be tough to manage. It is a good problem to have as long as expectations are set correctly and everyone knows their role during 2016. If this works out I can see Nebraska back in the top 5 over the next several years.
