Whos UCLA number one pair this year? Tan/Schmitt... they were actually the only pair that lost today. Ngauamo and Nightingale are both out with injuries so there will probably be some partner shuffling if they come back. Ngauamo is out for the season, so she will likely not come back. Zoe is expected back at some point. #7 UCLA 4, CSUN 1 - Thursday, March 5, 2015 - Northridge, Calif. #1 - Casey Hinger/Kelcie Randazzo (CSUN) def. Kamila Tan/Ivey Schmitt (UCLA); 21-17, 21-14 #2 - Elise Zappia/Madie Smith (UCLA) def. Mahina Haina/Katie Sato (CSUN); 21-8, 21-17 #3 - Julie Consani/Laurel Weaver (UCLA) def. Julie Haake/Nicolette Pinkney (CSUN); 21-19, 21-18 #4 - Karly Drolson/Rachel Inouye (UCLA) def. Cieana Stinson/Stephanie Serna (CSUN); 21-14, 25-23 #5 - Kendahl Hettick/Lexi Jasper-Baylin (UCLA) def. Alia Casino/Nada Dragovic (CSUN); 16-21, 21-15, 16-14

As of now, a few teams will be televising or streaming their matches for the upcoming season. - Hawaii will televise 5+ matches, all of which are played on campus in the T.C. Ching Complex. - USC has 7 matches on the Pac-12 Networks and will most likely have the remaining 3 home matches on the Pac-12 Streams. - South Carolina has posted that some matches will be picked up on SEC Network+ and possibly SEC Network - I found that UCLA is televising one match on Pac-12 Networks, there may be more plus streams. Last season San Francisco streamed their matches live through Youtube, so look for that to come. So Hawaii will televise matches against Nebraska and Cal but not Pepperdine?? that makes no sense, I wanted to see them against Pepperdine. Because the broadcast crew will be showing the UH vs Pepperdine Men's volleyball game tonight. The only time they show multiple live sports broadcasts, is if they are playing on the same night in the Stan Sheriff Center.

Hawaii Public Television doesn't care to broadcast UH losses. Pepperdine right out of the gate is a shoo-in. With a new coach LMU should present its challenges. huh....I'm interested to know what you might say now that they won both matches and took out LMU 4-1...

Although the LMU team is much improved, more could be said about Hawaii. It was fairly windy at Waikiki, but both Pepperdine and Hawaii had great ball control. The difference I saw was that Hawaii has really good bigs on their top three teams. I do not know if anyone else has that.

Since being asked, it's the first weekend of the sport. We'll see IF UH makes it into Alabama for Nationals. On the island it's easy to get complacent. LMU split their number one pairs team up. I don't know if it helped or hurt. Akana would have played her heart out regardless if she was paired with LK. Pepperdine now realizes where it stands; Hawaii not necessarily cause I still don't think that Nikki should be risking more injury to her tall gangly body. You missed the point of Hawaii's ability to broadcast only one thing at a time, regardless.

The point I was making is that you were saying that the school was assuming they'd lose...and your only support for that was a new coach going up against good squads. I was not trying to show any complacency. BTW aren't you a UH fan? Shouldn't fans wait until they see some action before being so heavy on the doubts of a new coach who obviously has success helping the mens team get to where they are now?

From the NorCal (Stanford) Invitational March 6-8:
Stanford 5, Sacramento State 0 Santa Clara 3, San Francisco 2 Pacific 4, Cal 1 St. Mary's 5, San Jose State 0
Stanford 3, Santa Clara 2 Pacific 4, St. Mary's 1 Cal 4, San Jose State 1 Sacramento State 4, USF 1
Pacific 5, Stanford 0 Santa Clara 3, St. Mary's 2 Cal 5, Sacramento State 0 USF 4, San Jose State 1
In the 1's and 2's pairs competition, Kat Schulz/Lexi Elman (Pacific) were the winners Sabrina Clayton/Danielle Rottman (SCU) second. Third was Nikki Hess/Kirsten Mead (SCU) and Brittany Howard/Lauren Birks (Stanford)
(Pacific definitely showed that they were the NorCal team to beat. St. Mary's had good 1's and 3's teams but no depth.)

Wow Pepperdine and FSU going down already. it's gonna be an interesting season this year. And the team who beat Florida State - Florida International (and one look at their roster shows they take the "International" part seriously) - lost to the Stetson Hatters. Great nickname, and they have some kids who can play. I still think USC is a big favorite to win it all this season, but I also thought that last season.
